    On the 2005-2011 models, the HVAC control panel can be removed without removing the mounting plate. I have not yet tried to remove the panel on the 2012s.

    We do offer replacement mounting plates on our website. Just be sure to specify which mounting plate - battery or wired. ;)

    Finally installed tonight, only took 15 minutes! Can't believe how much of a difference the extra lighting makes, and how nice the unit itself is. Even the gf was impressed :). Thank you guys!

    Looks like a very cool product and I guess I will place my order soon.

    Just a question, after the installation if later I need to remove the HVAC panel (lets say to get to my deck) do I have to remove the Flyzeye unti and discount its wires?

    If you are replacing the stereo (and plastic bezel) you will need to replace the mounting plate. If you are only needing temporary access, you should be able to access behind the HVAC panel with a little massaging of the panels. I have not yet done this on a 2012 but, for the 2005-2011 models, it is possible.

    also want to throw some good words in for this product..

    very clean design and great idea..installation of the wired version is a piece of cake and having the ability to detach and run on batteries in a second is a great feature.

    honestly feels like these should come standard in our vehicles it works so good

    i have the wired version, with amber and white leds to match the amber interior lights of the taco and am very happy with my decision

    Of course. Let us figure out a 'buy back' price... How's the condition? While we're figuring, you might consider listing it as, "FS: FLYZEYE V1 - etc..." The last one sold VERY quickly as I understand it.

    Just installed my V2 wired [W][R]-[BLACK] model in my 2012 Taco, took about 15 minutes total. VERY pleased! Thanks FLYZEYE, great job.:D

    FWIW: After all these months when I get in my truck in the morning, turn the key, and the console lights up with that "stock" amber glow... I still get a grin... it's just cool. Great product FLYZEYE guys!
