There have been people killed when a wheel came off, went across the highway, and through the windshield of an oncoming car.

That thin metal ring is probably the hubcentric ring. And I agree, some of the lug holes look like they have been opened up.

And this is why you need to be an ass upfront to show you aren't gonna take their s***. All the people on here that are pushovers saying you should forgive them or be all nice need to grow a couple.

This is a business transaction, not some kumbaya campfire

I would have insisted that the repairs be fixed at another Toyota dealership, that way they do not get off on the cheap side.

I don't think another dealer is going to fix someone elses fuck up. This is not a Toyota issue it's an independent dealer issue.

Thanks !- This is invaluable info- ill make them either source me a new wheel ( impossible ), give me a new set. Or ill want a copy from their insurance company saying that rim is safe to drive on.

Update: so after a couple of days of no replies they have decided to get me a new set of wheels since the weds are long discontinued and nobody stocks any. Id like to get some scs wheels but those seem to really hard to snag up.

Indeed that are. Method wheels are also really good looking, and easier to get.

Omg how could you suggest such a reasonable thing. Go sit in the corner and think about what you said.

So far not too bad. Dealers insurance is covering a new set of some scs wheels. They should have it wrapped up in a day or two.

Having spent a good number of years as a tech at a dealership you see all kinds of things that the customers will never know about... This is a managment issue. The service manager and or shop foreman figured how hard is it to put on shocks and rotate tires? So they put an entry level person on this job... EVERY repair is critical on an automobile. The guy in the stall next to mine would forget to torque the lugs on at least one Range Rover every 2 months... he flagged 300+ hrs a month so these "oversights" were overlooked.

on a side note as to how every job is an important one... the crows nest look out for the Titanic was discharged 2 days before she sailed... someone forgot the get the keys from the guy, these keys went to the lockbox for the binoculars that the crows nest lookout would use, they had no binoculars... you know the rest of the story.
