Question on the center cap. The blank center cap, does that come out independently? And can I replace it with a trd center cap? I’ve seen stickers for the trd logo. Is that sticker just applied to the blank center piece? Or is it a cap that replaces it? Thanks guys

 

Yes the center caps come out independently. The wheels come with matching center caps that you can apply decals to or you can get the polished aluminum center caps with the TRD logo already on them. You can also get decals for the center caps with the TRD already there if you want the color to be different. Lots of pictures on this thread with both type center caps.

 

Thank you I’ll look back on the thread.... Does Amazon sell the polished aluminum caps and center caps with decals on them?

 

I'm not sure if they do or not. Dustin usually has them when you order the wheels. If not you can get them through the dealership. I had to get a couple of extras because mine were damaged. They are not expensive.

They are spring loaded and just snap in the center of the wheel. The color matching center caps are the same color as the wheel. If you want to put a TRD decal on it you can just pick the color you want and put it on yourself. If you get the polished aluminum they come with the red TRD already on the center cap. I can take pictures of mine when I get home if you would like.

 

That would be awesome if you could do that.. what I might do is just put the decal on the existing cap in black Trd letters
for a bit of contrast since my truck is MGM and I’m going with the matte gunmetal gray wheels. Thank you for taking a few pictures later. That will really narrow it down for me..

That looks great what size tires you running??? Looks like 265 70 17 ko2s with stock suspension.... no rubbing on the flaps? Looks like oem flaps... I got the same running boards too. Mine is just like yours except 2x4. I think I ordered the lighter version of wheels. The non gloss finish. It’s a bit lighter for more contrast. Love the black matted lettering. Looks so much better than chrome

 

Correct, 265/70-17's. I get a slight rub on compression when turning. It happens pretty infrequently, so I haven't been concerned about it. I'll be installing King 2.5's, Icon UCA's, and Deaver U402's as soon as all the parts get here. Rubbing shouldn't be an issue after that!

 

Here are the color matched and polished aluminum front and back.



They both just pop in the opening. Some like solid color and some like some contrast. If you go with matching center caps with the black TRD you may get some contrast since you went with the matte gunmetal. I went with high gloss dark gunmetal and opted for the TRD aluminum center caps as I wanted more contrast with mine. Cant go wrong with either. Here are mine wrapped in BFG KO2's in 265/70/17. Been very happy with mine.

 

That looks awesome. Now that I see it I may just use the plain color center cap that comes with the fx wheel a find just the trd sticker clear with black lettering, since I’m already getting the black bolts. I think that would look cool l, or do the opposite of you and get the black center cap with white letters. Which do you think would look better... appreciate it.

 

Here are a couple of options. You can go to TVD vinyl decals where there are multiple color options of decals to cover the TRD on the aluminum center caps.

You can also use the color matched center caps and add decals from importequipment that also come in many color options.

With you having a MGM with matte gunmetal you may only have a few color options that actually look good. There really is no wrong choice, just personal preference but I would try and get a little contrast because if the colors are too similar you may not be able to see the decals at all. Hope this helps.

 

Yes thank you so much... the bottom two in the pics above is exactly what I had in mind. I think those are my exact wheels... thanks again... I like the white lettering too. I think black lettering would not pop as much

Cab mount chop scheduled Friday then I'll mount them up.
Had them put the raised lettering out and I'm debating between painting the letters white or silver.
