I don't immediately recognize them. Unfortunately around here that could be any number of marinas, waterfront parks and I'm assuming inlets.

If they are pictures from up in Pinellas County, I'd say the top one kinda looks like hurricane pass. That could be Caledisi on the left and shot from dolphin cove on Honeymoon. The middle one kinda looks like Philippe park in Safety Harbor. No clue on the marina.

I'm sure I'm not even close though :)

I'm impressed. You did better than you thought. The first is from Honeymoon Island looking out towards Caladesi. The second is indeed Philippe Park. And the third is actually from our outdoor dining table at Olde Bay Cafe in Dunedin. We were there in celebration of my wife's birthday. Our Son is in St. Petersburg and one Daughter is in Gainesville through July. My wife used to live in Palm Harbor off of Alderman on the east side on 19. I spent a good bit of time there with her before we remarried and moved. Spent lots of time at the beaches, parks, kayaking, etc.... Love going back there. Lots of great memories. I saw you were in Palm Harbor so I had to poke at you a bit. You live in a beautiful area for sure. Get those wheels and I'll know who to look for when I visit. lol

Here is a pic just to get back on track :D

It's TW, if we didn't get off track it wouldn't be a valid post :)

We actually moved out of PH at the beginning of the school year. Both older boys are in Orlando full time now for college and my youngest daughter was just getting ready to start 3rd so we downsized a bit and went down to Cape Coral where we could still afford a house on the water. Lots of things I miss about the PH area but I do love being able to drop the boat from the lift and just go instead of trailering it to some local ramp which is how I know Philippe :) We were off Alderman and Alt 19 area.

Honestly never went to Olde Bay which would make sense why I didn't recognize it but it's funny how you do recognize some random bit of water and a seawall at a park without any real context.

So back on track, I've been emailing with Dustin and I'm about to pre-order a set from the April batch of wheels assuming no more shipping delays. Next step will be a mild 3/2 elevation change so I stop rubbing and can clear a few areas that I've been hung up on before when launching my kayak.

Haven't spent time in Cape Coral but my Son got married in Bonita Springs because his wife's family was in Naples. I'm sure its a beautiful area as well. Nothing like easy access to water. My Grandmother lived on a tidal creek in Charleston (where I lived all my life until 2014). She had a private dock and neighborhood landing. We also had a lake house on Lake Marion in the middle of the state where we had our own ramp in the back yard. Loved the convenience of that and if a storm came up I could always pull the boat out since we didn't have a lift. Are the 2 oldest at UCF? Great school and that is where my son graduated from. Statistics major.

Glad you have been in contact with Dustin. Talked with him on the phone as well as email and here on TW. Hopefully you'll get in on the next batch. I have an Eibach Pro lift kit and Headstrong 3 leaf progressive aal that I need to install on mine at some point. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Keep us posted on the wheels. I'm sure you're excited.

Oldest is in his Master's program at UCF downtown and the middle one is at Florida Polytech in Lakeland.

Are you running yours with no lift now? What size tires? I'm rubbing with my stock TRD Sport wheels at 265/70/17. I'm curious if moving to the 0 offset will make the rubbing worse, better or same without the lift. It will dictate when I swap the tires over.

The only time I have had any rub is at full lock while backing out the driveway which has a drop near the drain in the curb. Other than that everything has been fine. I'm running 265 70 17 which is slightly larger than the stock 265 65 17 that came on the truck. I am on stock suspension currently. The offset should help you some I would think. Just try out the new setup for a bit and then decide what direction you want to go. I don't plan on going more than 2 inches as I am trying to avoid picking up any of the vibrations that others have encountered.

+1 for a great company with great wheels and customer service. I’ve got the Six Shooters and never had an issue.

Just got off the phone with Dustin.

My Matte Bronze 17's are on order. Should be late April. And now my watch begins...

After talking with him a bit, the only thing he suggested is removing that front air dam that's on the sport which I planned to do anyway. Said there shouldn't be any rubbing or minimal once that's gone. As for lift, I think I've settled on the trusted 5100 fronts and an AAL in the back for somewhere in the neighborhood of a 2.5/1.5 which he said would have no issues with rub at that point.

Yea I removed my air dam a while back. Mine may have rubbed on my stock mud flaps, not sure. I never really worried about it because it's only happened twice. I went with the Eibach over the 5100's because of everything I read about the two. Can't go wrong with either in my opinion. Mine are set on the lowest setting and I also have a 1/2 inch shim to add to the aal to try and get 2 inches front and rear to keep the factory rake. If I may make a suggestion, get a 3 leaf aal over the single aal. From everything I've read that will make the truck ride better. Also some of them require cutting off the factory bands that hold the springs together but if you get the one from Headstrong, it just attaches to the factory springs without cutting the bands. That way if you ever need or decide to remove them you can. Glad you got to speak with Dustin and keep us posted.

And has anyone ever purchased a wheel with a “minor” defect for the discounted price? How did it look?

I have read that some have bought blemished wheels from him and can't even tell they are blemished. I guess it depends on where the blemish is located. May be worth the discount depending on location and severity of the blemish.

:notsure: Never used a tire shine on wheels. Not sure how good of an idea that is or how good it would even work.
