Fog light bulbs... what option package is "wide angle type"?

Pretty straight forward... do we know what trim level the "wide angle type" bulbs are for?

TRD OR? Limited? Totally random/no one on this forum has any fucking idea because we're too busy pissing on each other?

I'm asking because the assemblies are actually different Toyota P/N's.. Best guess would be they're for the limited, because the part number is listed as "W/CHROME" for the higher wattage bulbs.

And another question is does all that extra wattage get you anything appreciable in terms of output...

if they are both incandescent bulbs, the 55 watt type will create more light or heat.

I believe the OR has the wide angle 55 watt because mine are really effing bright and very wide and they don't shine straight up

I have a 2016 SR5 and it came with the H16 (19w) fog lights which are about useless as far as light output IMO

I have a set of them that I'd be willing to sell if anybody is dying to have the wide angles.

I also have the 55w wide angle version off a TRD Sport... I bought replacement LEDs with housings so have complete kits without the black or chrome bezels.

Only the TRD models come with the wide angle fogs that are 55watts. The SR and Limited use the standard 19 watt bulbs and non wide angle

Aha! OK, so it looks like the SR5 is the only one that gets non-wide angle.

TRD sport and TRD offroad get them according to @daddy_o 's reference, but the parts catalog has the same 55w H11 housing P/N for "with chrome" so I'm gonna guess that the limited gets them too even though the brochure doesn't specify "wide angle".

My budget is pretty tight for the next few weeks but either of you are welcome to send me a PM, maybe we can work something out.

    Be careful!
My Canadian TRD Sport has H16....

Look for yourself. You can see the code when you look down at the fogs when the hood is opened.

I also have a trd sport canadian and can confirm h16 bulb, tried like hell to get a led 11 bulb in it, no way, busted the bulb. Pretty effing fustrating , was able to get the correct led h16 bulb, no problems other than the light output is crap. I will likely upgrade to some rigids when I get a new bush bumper.

    None...yet!
I had a pair of Rigid Fogs on my Ram. They work fine but are not VERY wide. They are wider than regular headlights, but not really wide like really good fogs. The Tacoma wides on my TRD OR 4x4 are much wider and as bright.

To put it another way, I wouldn't swap the stock Taco wide fogs for the Rigid's, they are not as wide. But if I didn't have any fogs on my taco I'd put the Rigid's on because I have them and they work OK. If I didn't already have the Rigid's sitting on a shelf, I'd order the Taco parts for the wide and run those.

Also, I bought yellow H11 bulbs on Amazon and think they look great. I prefer an amber fog anyway. Very easy mod for under $20.

(Note: just saw you were referring to the Lexus projector fogs. Sorry, no idea about those. I am talking about the aftermarket Rigid square fog lights they make now. Sorry. )

    The stock H16's were terrible.

I installed the Morimoto XB's. The difference is night and day. well worth the money and very wide angled.

I haven't actually checked the bulbs in my Canadian 2017 Off Road but they are much wider then the headlights and since it's -20 Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit) (with windchill is -28C which is -18F) I don't really feel like going out to check right now haha. But once it's warmer out I will go check.

According to our 2017 Toyota Tacoma Lamp replacement guide, the vehicle uses either H16 or H11 bulbs -- depending on trim level. Apparently, the TRD versions use H11, whereas the SR5 uses H16. As always, we suggest double-checking your stock bulb to ensure proper fitment. Either way though, the Philips H11 LED bulbs fit H8, H11, and H16 applications.

    hope this helps,

    Steve
