Fog Light + High Beam Mod - Full PNP for only $30 - 5 min install

Is Toyota the only one that turns off fogs when high beams are used?

 

ok…..I have to ask. What is wrong with the dogs being on with the high beams?

 

No I’m pretty sure it’s across the board for factory installed fog lights, also they should shut off when e-brake is engaged

Even the Drl usually go off with ebrake.
if you need high beams, you are going fast enough that what you see with your fogs, is already behind you.

The idea is high beams are used to see stuff farther ahead of you. Think high speed travel. If the fogs were also activated the new light up close causes your eyes to lose focus far away. Offroading I want all the light I can get both close and far with fogs, hibeams and my 30” hidden Diode Dynamics LED bar.

Oh yeah, this PNP solution works right outta the box.

 

Just to add some color here, in the parking light or low beam setting, the DRL lights will be dimmed when the parking brake is set. They go to a brighter setting with the parking brake is off.

I don't have much info on the DRL setting as I do not use it.

My Taco does not have automatic headlights, thankfully.

Flashing someone to pass would be extra obnoxious/dangerous….mine are not the sae version.

 

That was my concern too, I didn't realize (before I ordered) that flashing my high beams would flash the fogs too. Oh well.

 

I wasn't either. I still haven't installed mine because of it.

 

DRL only activates after parking brake is off after engine ON.
I haven't seen it turn OFF (Bright) while engine ON and parking brake is set.
DRL has 2 inputs, Bright DRL, Dim parking/tail.
DRL Bright turn OFF after low beams are selected and go to Dim with input from parking/tail.

 

I think we are in agreement except for that very last one? When on parking lights, the DRLs will go to bright when I take the parking brake off.

I could be wrong I just remember when I was installing factory fogs on a 02 acura rsx and the wiring harness that came in the box had a wire that I had to run back to the e-brake switch.

 

Got mine today and yep took 5 minutes to install.

My limited has the Auto High Beam function so I know my highs will go off if another car is approaching. Now if they don't turn their high's off I just press a button (momentary) on my shift knob and they get hit with a 38 inch LED from my roof rack. Slightly a little better then flashing high beams I think.
