Hello, I'm trying to do a HID conversion on my fog lights. I have a 2009 model Tacoma and can't seem to find anywhere on YouTube or on Tacoma world regarding the proper way to remove the fog light from the bumper. I can't seem to get it myself and struggling to find some good Info. If someone could post a picture or video showing this it would mean a lot. Thanks

    It's 2 small bolts?

Get on the ground and look.

DuttonCD: I tried to look up the morimoto fogs and it only refers to the 12-14 model Tacomas. Mines a 2009..

DCSBFTMFW: I looked and didn't see any "two small bolts" There's only a clip at the top of the assembly. And from what I've read it just pops in and out. But to me after popping off the clip it still doesn't budge... I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing.

Its easy, don't touch the adjustment knob or screw. Pushing from the back out, there are two studs on the left and right of the fog light. Those are just pushed into little recesses. Push the fog light across (think as if there was a single bolt going horizontally across) and this will allow one stud to pop out, then just slide the entire light out. If you can't figure it out I can take some pictures. It really only should take about 30 seconds per side.

I hope that HID conversion is a full fog projector retrofit. And not blinding people with putting HIDs in the halogen reflectors.

Alright, starting with the driver side fog light, you're going to look behind the drivers side bumper and see the above picture. Where the arrow is pointing is one of the mounting "lugs". There is one on each side of the fog light. Push that "lug" in while pushing the foglight out of the bumper. There will be resistance but the bumper will flex enough to get the foglight out. Repeat for the passenger side.

    Hope that helps.

    Thread resurrection.
I can easily "unlatch" the two side buttons from the actual bumper but for the life of me, the rear adjustment screw appears to be attached to the bumper somehow as well. Am I just not pushing hard enough on the rear of the housing to dislodge the whole light from the bumper? I've tried searching for a video of some sort showing the light actually being removed but to no avail.
    Anyone?

    thanks

Once you get those two tabs popped on the left and right of the housing it should pop out. If the adjustment screw is getting hung up, just rotate the housing up. You can be kinda rough with the bumper, its all pretty strong but bendable plastic.
