X2 good job they came out nice. I do the same thing when I drive. How is the cutoff towards the edge of the beam?

Same as yours, they kind of flare upward toward the edges but it's far enough out so it doesn't affect oncoming traffic. The cutoff is a little fuzzier at the outter edges but still fairly crisp.

I know... I'm not sure what's leaking though. When I noticed a little fog last night, it was just inside the projector. Then this morning it was inside the fog light lens as well. I hope the projector itself isn't leaking... if it is I'm screwed because MF'er is JB welded in place pretty good. I'll tear it apart tonight and see what's what. :(

Maybe it’s leaking from when you reinstalled the lens back onto the fog light. That would probably be easier to reseal that first instead of taking out the projector... I know once I JB welded the projector on the light I had a complete seal on the backside. Could have been condensation on the outside of the projector lens itself not the inside?

What worries me though is I think there was condensation inside the projector itself, in which case the projector is leaking. I can definitely see the fog light leaking, it went back together funky. I hope it was just my crappy job sealing it up, I'll find out tonight. I'll pressure test that biotch

FX retros, Blazer fog-light retro, JVC KW-NT30HD head unit, Pioneer 6X9's in front doors, Pioneer 6.5's in rear doors, two Pioneer 12" subs in sealed boxes, Sony X-Plod amp, Hidden Hitch trailer hitch, EGR window visors, two PIAA low-tone horns, Westin light bar with two 100-watt KC low profile driving lights.
Mine have been on for a couple of months now and I have zero leaks so far. I have been through downpours, car washes, etc with no problems.

I got them off the truck today and torn apart again. There is condensation inside the fog light lens itself and also inside the projector itself. The fog lens is my fault since I sealed it, the projector I'm stumped on. These things are supposed to be weather proof out of the box, I don't see how I could have messed them up. I need some opinions, should I try to go back to TRS for a new projector housing? I don't even want to think about trying to get the old one out from all the JB Weld... :(

Right now I'm thinking I'll reseal the lens to the fog light housing and reassemble it. Hopefully the leak in the projector was inside the housing so it'll solve both problems. Otherwise... I'm not sure what I'll do about it.

Edit: Just pulled the bulb and there was about 1/2 a shot of water inside the projector. The only think I can come up with is water is coming in where the bulb seats into the projector. Any ideas how to seal that part up?

I spoke to Andrew as TRS also and he said the Blazers aren't meant to be water proof. They are weather resistent but may allow water in. Just a word of caution to those who have already done this.

Apparently it's a problem for anyone who drives in the rain. I only drove through one heavy rain storm since they've been installed. To be honest, I'm a little upset especially since they're advertised that they can be used as a stand alone light, unprotected.

I'm thinking I'll just silicone in the bulb and deal with the mess when the bulb finally goes out. TRS recommended a PVC sleeve with a sealed cap but I'm not down for that much more work just to seal a faulty connection plus it will really heat up if I seal it in a PVC tube.

Me likey how you put the projector inside the housing! Thought about that myself, Ant turned me onto your thread. Bummer about the water in your lights, bummer for me too b/c it rains alot here in the summer. So if i am going to do this, might need to find a better way to seal them. First i'm going to do my headlights, then worry about the fogs. Question, are the heat sinks really necissary? Also, would the heat from the proj. lens melt the housing lens?

I bought the heat sinks but didn't install them (I might not, I'm on the fence about it). I don't think they're necessary, especially after TRS's response about the leak where they recommended sleeving the projector in PVC and sealing it.

I live in New England so lots of rain, snow and just all around crappy weather. The driver's side one is fine, no leaks, looks great and survived an automatic car wash. The only place for water to get in is where the bulb plugs in. I'll use a dab of silicone and they'll be water tight and hopefully problem free from here on in. I wouldn't get too hung up on the water I got in my projector, it seems a fair amount of people have used these proejctors and are problem free. I'm just that lucky I guess

So far the heat has not been an issue but it's been cold here. Next summer will be the true test. If you live in a really really hot area and sit in traffic a lot I might get a little concerned (well you shouldn't need them in stop and go traffic anyways). I have put my hands on the housing after running them for a while and they don't seem to be building up heat.

for me, the stock fog light housing doesnt get too hot.. just really warm..

however the projector itself was really really hot. the heat sinks helped a bit to disipate the heat.

My thinking was, if I or you or anyone else going to go the route the Pugga went, i would hi-temp silicone around the bulb so water wont leak in. It's a semi permanant precedure. In the even that you need to change out bulbs for what ever reason, you can still do without much difficulty. I wouldn't JBWelb the gap or holes where the bulb sits.. That's just me...

I still need to do the wire down mod... and if later down the road I go the route Pugga went, I will seal the bulb with black hi-temp silicone. heat sinks will continue to be on the projector to help

Did your blazers have those ears on the top? Did you cut them off to fit in the bowl?

Yep, I used a dremel to buzz them off. The housing is aluminum so they cut pretty easily, just have to be careful not to cut into the projector itself.

Well you won't need em either way you mount em correct (inside/outside bowl)? those are for a stand alone bracket set-up right?

Is that what you would use to help align them in the housing? Just as a refrence point?

Correct, they are not needed because JB Weld will be used to hold the projector in place.

You could use them as a reference point but when looking inside the blazer, you can see the horizontal cutoff inside the projector. I suppose if you don't remove the lens, they would be helpful to align them, I had the benefit of having the lens removed to help with alignment.
