Let me clear up what I said. Mine lights up when the parking lights as well as headlights are on. However I was meaning it doesn't light up when pressed, as in turned on by themselves. Hope that clears that up. All of the fog light switches will come on when your interior lights are on.

What the majority of people here are trying to say is that the fog light switch has orange back lighting similar to the rest of the controls in the cab. Meaning the symbol on the switch should illuminate amber in color when the running lights/headlamps are switched on, allowing you to find the switch in the dark.

There is no indicator that illuminates when the button is pressed and the fog lamps themselves illuminate - only back lighting, and it is supposed to do so on all models so equipped with fog lamps from 2005 - 2010.

And no, the AC Inverter, power mirror, and 4wd switches have no back lighting.

I have a 2005 Crew Cab and the only way I know my fog lights are on is if I look down on the road and see extra splashes of light during night time. :(

This sounds like a hit or miss! Derrick, you have a 2005 and you state the fog light thing lights up but I also have a 2005 and it doesn't light up!

    I'm confused

That green indicator is for the headlamps. Turn off your fogs - the green light will stay illuminated.

So if you leave your headlamps on and switch off the fogs only, the green indicator will stay lit? Weird. You have a one of a kind.

I'm going to check mine tonight, but I was curious about this as well. My factory fog switch does not light up at all. Hasn't from the day I bought the truck a year ago. It's an 05 DC TRD OR.
Guess I will have to check to see if there is a bulb back there, cause it's annoying to try to find the switch at night in the dark.

Sounds more like a common connection is loose or a fuse blew

I know it's an old thread... But did you ever manage to get a part number for the bulb?

Yeah, I paid like $12 for those tiny suckers......I may have one in a parts bag the new one came in, lemme see if I can find that.............stupid oem sites show the bulb next to switch but only give switch price. And of course it isn't listed in "bulbs" either.

Headlights make green symbol in gauges when on and a 2nd diff green one in the gauges for fogs is standard thing....the switch lighting up seperately from parking lights when on is a different model thing.

Cool. Not that they extorted 12$ for one, but that you may have a part number. Hopefully it lasted for a long time at least.

Mine has gone out and so did the bulb for the locker switch, VSC switch and I'm not sure if my inverter switch is supposed to light up. Y'all know?? The 100w and 400w indicator do light up but the lettering in between does not light up when I turn on the headlights
