    Not assuming.

My mother hates to drive at night...she's 80.

She avoids driving after certain hours...and she lives in SoCal/Inland Empire.

It takes effort to drive at night...is all I'm saying.

    Basically.

safety standards for forward lighting are so vague anymore. Its maddening. So many of these new cars with their fancy projectors are absolutely blinding. The newest subaru outbacks are about the worst for me. They must be great to drive but man do they really blind people. Plus, all these cars with “auto” high beams are a joke. There are so many turns in my area, that very frequently, a car will make it most of the way around a turn with the high beams on, fully blinding oncoming traffic, long before the sensor is smart enough to realize another car is oncoming.

That being said, i’m not advocating anybody actively blind folks but, i’m all for using all the factory lighting you feel that you need to see and be seen. If you want to run your fogs and low beams all the time, go for it. I use my fogs as DTRLs about 50% of the time because it makes people pay attention

It does take effort, and it takes effort to be courteous as well. It's not just restricted to night, though. Tons of people run fogs at all hours. I've just developed the habit of assessing oncoming vehicles light status as far away as possible and averting or shielding my eyes from those that may cause pain at close range. My issue isn't anyone else's problem, but it's still nice to see some courteous drivers.

    I'm one for courtesy...oh yeah.

But that's not the world we live in.

And I take what my mother says to heart.

Geez, the stuff people come up with around here to whine about! Isn't there a special Hatchet Wound forum for stuff like this?

Honestly, fogs are a minor irritant most of the time. The ones that kill be are the light bar junkies that have them on all the time. That one I know they get pulled over for, though. I've seen it happen. Local guy had one in his grill and on his roof and always ran it if it was dark. Blinded everyone, and he refused to turn them off, until he blinded a LEO. Not sure if he got a warning or a ticket, but I've not been blinded on my early morning commutes since I saw that happen.

The fog lights on my motorcycle would burn your mommas retinas. But at least she'll never pull out in front of me in traffic.

I tried to get a forum called
"Come At Me Bro" started. All I got was reply banned from the Electric Circle Jerk thread.

I run yellow Hella bulbs in my wide angle trd offroad factory lenses. Unless you are laying drunk in the ditch they aren't blinding anyone.

Now the dudes that buy goofy crap driving lights and mount them everywhere and drive on the road looking like close encounters of the third kind, yeah thats annoying.

Mine are always on when my lights are on, always set to Auto. You never know when there might be a fog bank over the next hill or around the next corner.

I understand your irritation. I use simple fogs and no light bars.

My fogs point straight into the ground...and I understand, you're not pointing blame at Tacoma owners like me.

Not at all. I'm not blaming anyone. Like I said, I have the problem, so I do what I can to mitigate it.

Blinding people while your chevy is broke down on the side of the road is different though. You're just trying to be visible.

    I don’t know.
I don’t use my Fog Lights.

I get in my truck and drive it from point A to point B.

I don’t need a sponsorship form a lighting company to get me there. :D
