Hey guys, when we bought my truck from the dealer and he was showing me how to work everything, he pointed out the foglight switch, but said don't turn them on unless there's inclimate weather, otherwise it's illegal to have them on, and you may get pulled over. I generally follow this unless there's very few cars around, yet I see people with them on all the time. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with this?

Just foglights in general are apparently illegal, mine are stock though.

From my understanding as I was always told is fog lights are illegal to have on if it is not foggy out, which sucks. :(

Same... I never turn mine off, so they are on everytime the lights come on.

I am pretty sure there actually a few cars out there that the fog lights are actually the running lights (I have seen a few Audi models like this). Sometimes its a older man or woman driving, so I know they didn't modify it to do that.

My fogs are on whenever the truck is running, I leave the switch on so they go on with the running lights.

I'd love to have them pull me over for this. I haven't pissed off the law since moving to OKC, this would be a good introduction

This is like tinted windows, different states, different laws, nobody really enforces the rules until there is a complaint/problem.

^^^^how you like your light bar im guessing its smitty built or westin. i am looking soon to run a 30 or 40 inch led bar using a smitty.

im a LEO and will say its illegal but not enforced all the time. just as stated before its like window tint. i have had buddies pulled over for it in the past. i dont have statute book in front of me but it states something along the lines of inclimate weather permits. i believe cruising around town not being a douche you will be fine. rural i would run whatever i got ie lightbar, KCs, and fogs.

just dont be a moto bro that have light bars and neons running them in town to look cool that will get a ticket.

You should be able to rotate your KC stone guards so they aren't upside down. But yes! More lights! I just upgraded my KCs 4in Rally 400 Halogens to 6in Pro a Sport LED KCs and love them!

Lol, attitude is good. I bought all new KC Hilites, it's their newer Gravity LED Pro-Sport 6inch lights. I've just replaced my previous 4inch Rally 400 Halogen ones. Used the same switch/wiring. Just plugged in the new ones and bam! 5000K of LED goodness! I also installed some KC C3 3in cube flood lights for reverse lights, love them too.

Well I have Rigid SRM2 in a driving pattern in my factory led locations, and have never had an issue with Okie, Tejas, New Mexican, Colorado, Louisiana, law enforcement. A couple of months a go I passed the a OK Highway patrol just north of Paul's Valley with all my lights on at about 2am doing 95 with a bed full of Texas beer.

    Glad he was asleep.

I figure, if you paid for the fog lights in the first place, might a well use them.

I like them because they really help illuminate the ground immediately in front of the truck. I've been able to spot crap in the road at night and swerve out of the way just in time. With regular headlights, the beam is far out enough that you can't pick up much detail.

And yea, if the popo are gonna complain about my properly aimed factory fogs, then they first need to go after the lifted bro trucks that blind everyone with dual light bars and shitty HIDs.
