Would like to replace my Fog Lights in my 2016 Off Road with Nokya Yellow Bulbs, my owners manual gives you two Numbers, H16 19W and H11 55W, Not sure what I have or does it matter? Will either work ?

    Thanks Tom C.

I have the "Hyper Yellow Nokia" H11's, and run them in daytime with the park lights on so I can have the fogs on... It's kinda my "signature" thing to run Yellow fogs all the time..!!

kinda a dick thing to do and illegal in most states (idk about canada). they are hella distracting to oncoming traffic. they serve a purpose, and not the one you are using them for. hope you arent the DB i almost killed the other night running a roof top light bar and ditch lights on the road. yellow is great for the worst possible weather and really only should be used for times your headlights are ineffective like extreme fog and snow where they have the ability to project through to the road instead of just lighting the fog.

still would be a fail in my state because they are a distraction to oncoming traffic. hence every one of those bulbs says "intended for off road use only"\

this is what the nh inspection book reads:
"No headlamp shall be used unless it is approved by the director and is equipped with a proper lens or other device designed to prevent glaring rays" which means if it isnt stock or DOT approved(none of em are) it isnt getting a sticker(technically)

Totally legal man... not any more of a distraction to on coming drivers than standard white fogs..... These are same wattage as OEM... not a super bright aftermarket thing..!!

These bulbs DO NOT say "intended for off road use only".... You are mixing them up with something else..!!

    Cheers Bro..

huh because they sneak this lil literature in the site if you dig deep enough:

Nokya Hyper Yellow Headlight Bulbs (2500K)

Note: These bulbs are not DOT approved. They are sold for show car or off-road use only. Check local laws before using.

All aftermarket parts put a "off road use only" warning to cover their ass. If you really want to get into it, in WA state, pretty much any bumper guard or aftermarket guard is illegal as it protrudes past the bumper line. There are also bumper height maximums as well. I was pulled over before for running 31" tires on my old jeep cherokee without mudflaps too.

But @hyper15125 is right, if yellow fogs were illegal, lexus couldn't have sold their cars with OEM yellow fogs in the states.

Not sure about Ontario laws, but I was under the impression that here in BC, you weren't supposed to run fogs in non-foggy conditions. Just read up on it and looks like I was wrong. According to a police officer's interpretation (online news report/article), so long as the lights are white or amber and mounted properly, you can run them anytime.

    Then again, our MVA states:

... and I would interpret that as "running fog lights in non-foggy conditions is illegal, because in non-foggy conditions it is NOT disadvantageous to use headlamps."

I don't like seeing them on the road - they almost always blind me - but what can you do. Heck, when I was buying my truck my salesman specifically went out of his way to show me how to run fog lights without having my low beams enabled for that "cool look that you couldn't do on the 2nd gen Tacoma."

I'd bet nearly all factory fog lights are not aligned properly (at least according to the above - BC - standards).

it isnt that they are legal or illegal to run yellow. but there is a specific certification they have to obtain to be sold as legal. its expensive for this certificate which drives most aftermarket companies into the grey area of selling stuff for off road purposes only. lexus can afford to have stuff DOT tested and approved. i really only brought it up because ive been blinded before by people running lights they shouldnt be and ive been harassed by LEO for using non approved lighting before so i figured id both educate the uneducated and let ex LEO know they may be bothering a lot of people in a way that certainly can be perceived as illegal(even if its their "signature thing")

Who gives a shit, people run what they want and many road laws are stupid anyway.

Besides your literature references approved lenses,NOT bulbs, lenses designed to prevent glaring. Bulbs are not the same as lenses. Bulbs are bulbs. Sounds like you are convinced of your own bias.

which is part of the reason i run piaa plasma ion yellow bulbs. because they are the only DOT compliant yellow i could find. and every car that spends its life on the race track runs piaas. and with an inspection licence i cant blatantly disregard inspection in case i get pulled over and harassed. its good to know the laws

The mix up is lenses vs bulbs. A light like this PIAA has a lens. Bulbs don't have lenses.

Don't think the XB's put out any more lumens than a good H11 bulb (e.g., Philips Xtremevision = ~1200-1350 lumens).
