I want to add some fog lights to my 2020 SR, it is wired but I would like to have a dash switch.

I'm thinking of using the Morimoto XB EVO Foglights, but am open to suggestions.

Can you recommend the harness, wiring and switch.

    Thanks

Thanks musicievil, hadn’t seen that one before; I will have to give it a read sometime. But 48 pages?

So agree with your personal observations.

If you are seeing fog lights mid day that are blindingly bright something is major wrong. Fog lights work by being positioned low on the vehicle, throwing a wide beam, angled down that cuts through the fog. Fog does not touch the road so the fog lights actually shine under the fog rather than through it. You can’t shine through fog, the light just reflects back at you. So if fog lights are blindingly bright day or night they either aren’t fog lights or they are set up wrong or angled up high. In either case they would be useless in fog.

Poor OP, he's going to be studying for weeks.

Those two links in post 2 & 4 are great sources of info.

Non sae LED pods in fog light pockets is what I’m seeing and yes useless to the driver, useless during the day, and frustrating for everyone on the road but the driver.

No, I looked through it a bit before I'm not pulling my steering wheel off.

Basically I'm just wanting a switch, fuse, wire to fuse box or direct to battery and be done.

Fog are the most useless lights on my TRD OR. It came with halogen bulbs, I swapped them out with OEM LED with amber Lamin-X film. It's cheap and have a clear cut-off like the headhights. About $120 for the pair on Amazon.

I might go with the diode dynamics elite series fog lamps.

You may have misunderstood the instructions in the first thread. The steering wheel is not removed only the shroud in front of the steering wheel, plus the driver surround to the knee airbag to gain access to the fuse box and Body ECM.

I understand not going to the work detailed in that thread to get a “factory look” though.

For a simple switch consider going with an old style 20-30 Amp lighted switches like Radio Shack use to sell. No relay may be required, in-turn you also don't get the factory look either. My local auto parts places still have those types of switches readily available.

One posi-tap to the C11 connector (light stalk) to an ON/OFF switch. Switch size depends on vacant slot the Taco has.

If you don't use a relay, all the current going to the lights also goes through the switch. That's fine if you get a switch rated for that amount of current. It'll work if you use a switch rated for lower amperage, for a while.

Absolutely correct, that is why I specified a switch capable of 20-30 Amps. The current carrying device, whether a switch or a relay must be sized for the anticipated current draw of the supplied device.

This ONLY applies if OP is adding a separate fog light system done '70 way.
OEM fog do not suffer these last post's "concerns".

    So this is my cart.
I just need fog light bezel, wire harness and relay correct?
