I have limited space on my rig (not a Taco) and bought some DD SAE fogs. However, I usually drive on dark roads a lot more often then in inclement weather. This is the first year I've had Aux lights (I also have a 20" ONX6+ bar, and A Pillar Squadrons). I'm thinking that I might actually get more use out of some Spots on the A Pillar for high speed dark road drives. I'm way more likely to be on a dark road than a foggy one, or one with heavy snow, or maybe rain. That said, I'm up for keeping the fogs if they really make a big difference when I am in inclement weather.

So, for those of you with fogs, can you share why you would or wouldn't do it again and why?

Don't go cheap buy once.... DD Pro fogs, that's all you need. They make my HID Morimoto look like shit.... You can just drive with DD on and feel confidence about them.

Yeah, I have the DD pro SAE fogs. They do a nice job of lighting stuff up in close, but so do my Baja Designs Squadron pros (but they are not street legal). I haven't had them on yet in crappy weather, but I wonder if people here think they make that much difference in bad weather (Since I can't use the Squadrons most times)? If it's only a mild if any difference than I might just move my Squadrons down into their space and get Spots on my A Pillar (where the Squadrons are now) for high speed highway stuff.

I have the DD SS3 Pro fogs and I wouldn't trade them for anything. They're great for relatively short range illumination as well as illuminating well out to both sides of the road. Sure, inclement weather is the perfect time to use this type of beam pattern, but there are many other times when I need this kind of lighting.

I also have a DD 30" Stage LED bar with all driving pattern optics. I use this for situations where I need much longer reach and nobody's coming the other way. This provides a very different pattern (and reach) than the fog pattern but, there is a time and place for everything.

Finally, I have The Ultimate Headlight Upgrade to give me the maximum amount of usable light in everyday (or should I say every night) driving. This is kind of the best of both worlds. It doesn't have the side lighting the fogs provide and it doesn't have the extreme long range the driving pattern LED bar provides, but it's very nice for regular driving.

So getting back to your original question, would I do it again on fogs? Absolutely yes! I've added aftermarket fog lighting to every vehicle I've owned since 1974.

I use the fogs to fill in the near field (sides) when night driving.

Thanks for the input so far. Yeah, I feel like for the most part I have the wide aspect covered with my Squadrons being used as ditch lights. However, I can't run them anytime like I can the street legal DD. The few times I've driven at night in heavy snow I've wondered how a set of good fogs would work. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I do know I probably drive more often in dark conditions at night without snow and I'd like more light where my 20" ONX6+ reaches. That would require some Racers or Spots. Mounting options make it such that I can have the Squadrons and DD Fogs or The squadrons for the mid and wide (only with no oncoming traffic) and the Racers for the distance. I'm itching to get the racers, LOL, but I have a habit of buying more on want than need :).
