For all of you old timers on here like myself......Do you guys remember the relays we could add to our GMC trucks to run highs/lows at the same time?

Is there something like this for our tacos? I'd like to run the highs along with the fogs or even better, all at once. Anything out there like this for us?

You're right. Basic electronic components work differently on 3rd gens.

There's also been no less than 10 threads about this exact topic. There's no easy solution to maintain all of the integration. It is possible with cutting and hacking.

Easiest universal thing is to power your fogs from a relay harness, and connect the trigger to the relay harness to the high beam lead with a diode. I have a homemade adapter I've used on my last 3 cars that cost me all of $20 and it's plug and play.

Pretty sure it's against the law in most all states. That's why they are built like that. All Vehicles. Maybe cool for off road, but don"t get caught on the road with them all on.

When I bought my 06' Tacoma there was an easy mod to have the fogs come on independent of the lights. It was just a matter of moving a wire in the fuse box under the hood, if I remember it was bypassing a relay. I was surprised to find out no one has figured out to do this on the 3rd generation. May not be possible I guess?

You could just wire up the fog lights to it's own switch and then to the battery with an in-line fuse set up. I've done that on a few cars with no issues at all. Then you could turn on either your low or high beams and then flip the switch for fogs.

Just a heads up, with this method, it's on you to turn the fogs off when you are on public roads using your high beams. It's illegal, as previously stated, to have high beams and fogs on at the same time.

Yeah wire fogs like they were a light bar.

Curious tho ... why fog lights on with High beams?? Whats the reason you want to do this??
