I looked but couldn't find anyone who has their high beams on while having their fogs on. I was thinking of buying this kit. I think a conversion from Subaru 9005 to an H9 would be required though. Thoughts???

I’m pretty sure no vehicle has the capibility to do that (stock). It’s like illegal or some shit.

    Illegal.

There is a reason your fogs turn off with high beams.

Honestly, if you could bodge together that kit with some wire a couple of resistors for about five bucks.

    Go ahead and try it.
Let us know how much the ticket is.
Where I live the state police are starting to give tickets for driving with fogs on if there is no fog. They say it is blinding and distracting, so I would not want to see what they do about high beams and fogs on at the same time.

It can be done using a relay but cutting the factory wiring is required. I'll have to do a write up soon

I'm not brave enough to cut. I think I may give this a go. If I do I'll update. It'll probably be after things warm up a little though. I also need to see if an 9005 to H11 adapter will be okay to use.

    I don't think it's illegal, but it's damn illogical.

    Why?
Fog lights are set to light up the ground right in front and sides of the vehicle, BELOW the fog so you can see. High beams are less than worthless in fog or snow or hard rain. "Hey, let's turn on our high beams to see better in the fog!" Said no one ever.

Do what you want but combining those two lights makes absolutely no sense.

    Don’t be that asshole....

I hate it when people ride with their Fogs on with no fog.

I hate it when people put HIDs in their halogen fog housing.

    Don’t be that guy.

I did a really simple jumper wire in the fuse block under the hood on my 2010 right after I got it new, and it’s never caused a problem.
Before anyone jumps on me for it, I use the fog/high beam combo only way out in the country or on really dark forest roads, as the fog lights give enough light at the sides and the high beams give me the longer range. I also use a different bulb in the fog light, it has the same plug but no center blackout, I can’t remeb the number. I don’t use them at all in the city or if it’s not foggy, because I’m not that asshole. It does give more useable light in an off road situation, and it was a free mod.

LOL. Everyone is jumping to conclusions on how this mod would be used, when, or what my purpose would be. It's okay to just ask someone rather than jump to conclusions. Anyways, I'm just looking for any positive contribution to this thread if anyone knows someone who has made this work or if that kit could work if an adapter is used. Is an adapter even safe to use?

There is not adapter that I'm aware of. Because you will need to intercept the high beam signal wire between the stalk and ECU.

At least one person gets it and doesn't jump to conclusions. :amen:

Although I won't use the mod on public roadways

See above, not sure what the newer layouts are, but I can pull the relays and check the locations of the jumper wire tomorrow. It’s been seven years since I did it, I don’t remember, lol.
Also, I get flashed high beams at me enough with just my low beams on, I’d hate to think what it would be like if I ran the fog lights all the time.
