You should get one, I bought one a month ago and its been perfect. Zero issues with water leakage and was relatively simple to install.

Here is the outside view. There is about a 1/2" gap between the plastic tailgate cap and the bed. I can barely fit my pinky in but I'm no where near touching the locking mechanism. While its open I tried pulling on the cable and it didn't budge (but I'm also not using a ton of force cause I don't want to break anything) so I feel completely safe with anything in bed. I don't think anyone can open it with a coat hanger. The rubber weather seal that rests on the tailgate is also pretty hard and isn't going to move unless you break it.

Thanks for the tip on the G4 Fold-a-Cover promo code. I watched the installation video multiple times which gave me the confidence to perform my own installation, and since ordering from the factory saved the sales tax, I ordered the G4 last week. Finished the installation today, and I’m very pleased.

 

Are the panels epoxied aluminum, or fiberglass-plastic type like the Bak Fibermax?
