Not sure what kind my friend had but he had a folding one on his truck and it made a horrible rattling noise at higher speeds and over any bumps.

I don't know how badly you want a folding cover but I just got a topper from "Undercover" and it is great. You can lock it, you can open it without opening the tailgate and I can take it off my truck in 3 minutes tops when someone is helping me.

    On the other hand....

I was also thinking about a folding truck bed canopy (kind of like a tent thingey). Any ideas anyone?

(no flames please, I am serious. I probably will not use it often but would be handy out here in this oregon rain sometimes)

That folding cover looks good. I was opting for that at first but then went with the tri fold Genesis Tonneau.

Seems too permanent to me those hard ones, not that it's a bad thing. Just not what I need.

Around $675, but when I bought my Tacoma I got the dealership to throw it in for free!

Hi, I'm new around here. Just researching the new Tacomas cause the last one I had was a 03 DC 4x4. Anyway, this is a question that I can answer. My Dad just had a Fold-a-Cover put on his new GMC 4x4 and it is very nice. As soon as I get my new Tacoma, I WILL have one installed.

Did you get one yet? The Fold-a-cover is supposed to lock the tailgate too.

I also saw someone replace the nuts on the rail mounts with wing nuts. After that, he could loosen them to slide the cover up against the back window. He used a thick rubber bungee strap to secure it with part of the strap between the cab and latch box on the cover to prevent scratches.
