Well tried my hand at pork belly burnt ends today. Seems to have turned out pretty good for my first time and since I’ve never tasted them before either. Not quite as melt in your mouth as I had hoped but still rather tasty!5EB036F2-69F5-49C0-BE28-183340FFC40F.jpg

Had the puppers full attention with licking lip and drools running C8A8A2E1-C7DF-4BE4-BED7-64BAC9DA3745.jpg

Yessir .Had about 20. 10 were such a wast as they had soooo much fat. Over 23 pounders.

These 4 were worth taking. All about 19 lbs... Probably be around 16 trimmed.

Time constraint, so Texas crutch it is.

    Overall thoughts so far:

Really accurate looking at freezing and boiling compared to Thermopops.

    Fast responding

Unit feels cheap - the plastic and weight to it that is (time will tell)

Probes don't necessarily 'click' into the unit. if not seated firmly, the slide out a bit and drop connection. adds to Cheapness feel, but pricing reflects this.

Didn't try for max distance, but from my pit to farthest part of house (through multiple rooms) there is no issue. Google maps says it is just shy of 100'. Awesome!

    No App :(

    So. Yay or Nay...

If you can get it for $37.50 - Yes
Full Price - I'd save up for a better unit, but a 4 probe unit for even $75 is not bad...

It will be a great backup unit to have for sure and for <$40, I'm pleased with it.

I will run a pit probe and 3 probes in the brisket later when I cook. I'll try and grab a pic or two along the way @Bigdaddy4760 :boink::rofl:
