It's not really overstock, it's supposed to be a restaurant food and supply place for smaller independent type places so they have things somewhat in bulk but still sell to the public. Best place I have found around here for meat for a party or if I am going to do a large enough amount to share beyond me and the old lady. I love their big packs of tri-tip roasts. Probably going to swing in there this weekend and get a pork butt for smoked carnitas tacos and maybe grab a pork belly and do some burnt ends to bring in to work next week.

 

yeah it seemed like an overstock type store..to me but yeah basically caters to restaurants, I think they also get a little discount on top of the prices. We also get the coffee flavor bottles there. they have a whole side of one Aisle on different flavors. I got a good pork shoulder pack from them pretty cheap. I still have one in the freezer I need to thaw.

 

I used beer as foiling juice on a few flats. It wasn't bad at all. I used an IPA. I have never marinated one though.

 

I may have to try doing it soon. I mean BEER.

Never did a Picanha so if you got tips. GO!! Lol

When I put them on the skewers I’m assuming I cut them against the grain? Kinda hard to tell where the grain is lol

Finally had a vacation (stayed at home, had family in town) after ungodly hours past couple weeks.

Managed to snag a couple picks of the only tun with Unicorn I got to do... @bvbull200

Prime Tomahawks for Dad and I. I did Unicorn, S&P for him. Fillet for wife and chicken for stepmom.




Tossed em on at 180* pit temp (oak) for a bit while waiting for charcoal to heat up

I recommend using granulated onion and granulated garlic instead of the powders... It's less messy.
