Gonna have to hit that up. Aldi being Aldi, I’m sure that once it’s gone it’s gone.

Oh yeah! A little anchovie/garlic/rosemary rub and you are in steak heaven! IF you end up with too much, get tired of eating it as leftovers (we have before), try slicing it thin and chicken-frying it. Chicken-fried prime rib: best chicken-fried steak you ever put in your mouth!

Ham.. local store has several brands and several prices per pound. Are the more expensive ones worth it? Brands:
    Cooks
    Smithfield
    Kretschmar
    Hormel cure 81
    Farmland

    Any ham pros here? :)

I worked for Hormel, and the Cure 81 ain't no joke. Farmland is commodity, I don't know the rest.

If anyone is looking for a good starter pellet smoker

check Lowes. A lot of stores have the pit boss 456 on sale for $189. Was $399 then went to $269. Comes with a 5yr warranty and this one has the direct searing capability.

    No wifi though :anonymous:

$189 plus 10% off if youre military or buy the 10% off coupon on ebay.

I've never had Hormel cure 81 ham. $4 a lb but YOLO.
    Thanks for the reply.
A local processor has real good ham, but we have it all the time. I want something different.

Yeah, that can probably be called their flagship product, along with SPAM.

Funny story, I was an industrial engineer in the Austin, MN plant after college. Part of my job was putting in labor standards, and that plant had a lot of soreheads who had been on a very long, (16 months), strike a couple of years before. I was time studying the Cure 81 packaging line, and one of the workers came up and said, "Ya know, your name is brought up often down at the Oak Grill." The Oak Grill was a restaurant where the strikers that didn't come back hung out and bitched about their life. So evidently, their lot in life was due to me and my labor standards... I just told the guy, "do they want my f'ing address to go along with my name?". He went back to work.:rofl::rofl:
