No shit? I’m in Houston next week for work myself. I go to Goode Company BBQ but I try not to venture too far out and about in Houston.

My favorite so far has been Killens BBQ in Pearland. But plenty of great places all over Houston I’m sure. Swinging Door in Richmond is tasty as well. Harlem Road BBQ has great reviews as a newcomer, but haven’t tried it, also towards Richmond. Tejas BBQ in Tomball is supposed to be on point. The Pit Room is near the zoo, great bbq. Tex-mex inspired side dishes.

IF you decide to try Killens, I’d say do a Saturday if you can. Only day they have burnt ends....and IMHO best damn ones ever!

Fiiiiinally found tri-tip that wasn’t the premarinated one Costco sells (which doesn’t take to smoke very well). Grabbed the smallest one, don’t know why....think the marbling got me lol

Neat! My wife's family lives in Houston so we are staying with them for a couple of weeks. I'm going down for an Overwatch League game so it's a good opportunity to eat lots of Mexican food and barbeque. And her family likes my kid. That helps too.

Solid advice my dude! Thanks! I love Rudy's but looking to branch out a bit, you know? We are staying in Cypress and I know nothing about the Houston area besides it is huge and spread out. I'm willing to drive for some food, though!

My wife is gone this evening so I was on my own for dinner. Mashed potatoes count as my daily vegetables right?

The bone is super charred but the steak came out to a perfect medium rare! I had some nasty flare ups while searing above the vortex but really it came out pretty darn good.

I left my pellet smoker uncovered in the rain last month. I didn't notice until I tried to use it that water got into the auger and the bottom of the hopper.

It turned into cement. I had to disassemble the bottom half and keep soaking the auger tube until the pellet cement softened enough to pry the auger out.

The good news is I cleaned it and put it back together and it works. I had to unplug it and cover it before the rain started again this evening.
