Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Damn I'm :jellydance: I've been wanting a 26" since I learned to properly use my 22". Trying to figure out how I can convince the wife that buying another grill is a required expense.

The 26 is a game changer... But that's not even it's final form...

Before I even ordered it checked out the CB website for the 26" rotisserie :anonymous: I have 3 of them now and 3 motors so could get by with the $199 option. But will wait if I do it. Yeah you know me too well Rick, it will happen eventually :p

I have 3 22" kettles. One is in the garage for the cabin during hunting season and 2 on the deck. My original gold is in hot standby on the deck to be dragged out back to the firepit area when the snow gets lower. But will never use it out there. Did that with a Weber silver 20 years ago and between the snow and mosquitoes never used it so finally gave it away. Reason for so many decks off the 2nd floor here, the State bird is the mosquito. Lot less of them up high. I got the 26 as much for smoking as anything else. A man can never have too many grills. Of any type!

LOL my first thought when I went to lift the lid was holy chit this thing is heavy! So what does the lid on the Ranch feel like?! :D

Butcher shop in town had ribeye rolls go on sale for $5.99 a lb. today. Trying to stay away from Costco so picked up one this morning. If it was good would get another tomorrow but didn't have high expectations.

Been using the pellet pooper as a replacement for the gasser during the winter. And today had an inch of rain. Didn't want to mess with pellets in the rain or charcoal. Temps dropping to a high of 20 tomorrow and snow tonight. Screw that even the dog said so.

    butchShop1Rain.jpg

So used the gasser for the first time in a long time. Did sear and slide as I didn't want to dork around in the rain too much and honestly don't see a hell of a lot of difference. Not near as much as the cut of meat does.

    butchShop2StartSear.jpg

    They looked good enough.

    butchshop3finishing.jpg

But the dog ended up with about 25% of it due to the tendons and what I consider inedible meat. He is happy with them LOL. Looks like I will be making a trip to do battle at Costco this weekend although have a dozen ribeyes for now that need eaten. I got a small roll as a trial run, hey I didn't fall off the turnip truck last night after all ;)

Going to try and re stock the freezer tomorrow. I have a feeling TX will be on mandatory quarantine soon.

Like X2! Except for the quarantine, already here and at work. Although due to where I work is balls to the walls for work and working 16+ hours a day reminds me much of the Navy. Which is not a bad thing...

I hope you realize that YOU are one of the main reasons for me getting the 26" :p

The JJ is one of my favorite grills and having the 26" I can now set it inside of it when I use it. Only disadvantage of the JJ is the "silver" type ash catcher. Being able to set it inside the 26" kettle helps put my mind at ease when running it. First thing I checked for

Agree and even though started with Webers 25 years ago, or more actually maybe 30, wish I would had started sooner. Would have saved me a lot of money over the years.

I did look at the Ranch. But no way I can justify one. At least new and been looking for a 26" or Ranch for years here. Nada. Nothing. Besides Zach kills T-Rex with a Ka-bar knife and skins them on the way to the grates. In mid air. How the hell am I supposed to stay up with that?! That is a young mans game LOL.

Just wait until you get my age and you go to get out of bed and wonder what the hell you did to damage so many muscle groups while you were sleeping!

Down 30 pounds in 8 weeks now on Atkins induction eating meat and salads and also been beating the hell out of the bowflex. Oh and bacon. Lots of bacon.

But the main thing that seems to be helping me is physical therapy exercises that I have picked up over the years. Not going to say they are yoga exercises. Maybe they are, but not going to say it out loud. And will never go to any of those hippy classes for yoga. No disguising those that wear yoga pants to the grocery store and really shouldn't be LOL. But those PT exercises really help. The ones that for some reason fall under Hiawatha Yoga. Or so I have heard...

I think I've finally perfected my Smoked Unicorn Burger, friendos. 1 Tbsp Unicorn and 1.5 tsp of salt per pound of meat, 6-ounce patties, and a nice thick slice of Tillamook extra sharp cheddar. I smoke for 30 minutes then put the cheese on and turn up the heat on the Traeger to max for another 10 minutes. Results are consistent and delicious!
