Love it. Can be a little finicky trying to keep temps even but it just takes a little time. Definitely not plug and play but well worth the effort.

For the price it was a no brainer to try out, that being said…
The firebox is starting to rust out on the lid. I put in an additional stainless steel burn box to try and keep it longer. It’s not the thickest metal but I prefer it to a pellet grill all day.

What's wrong with a pellet grill?

Idt that there’s anything wrong with pellet grills just a personal preference myself. Kinda like a stick vs. auto. As long as the finished product is edible, I’ll call ‘er good.

Nothing is wrong with them, they are awesome. And they are way less work. But I prefer to work with wood chunks and natural charcoal. I notice a difference in taste and I enjoy the constant work checking in. I set a 20 minute timer on my watch and check on it three times an hour. You could do all that with a pellet smoker too but it’s not necessary

5-1/2 hours. A little dried out, first time trying brisket. Delicious anyways.

Ah, yes, fresh picked and unprocessed charcoal is my favorite. :D

Kidding, of course. What temp did you cook at and what part of the brisket did you check temps?

I was running between 225-250 for 5-1/2 hours. Just stuck a thermometer in the side of the brisket. Tried to aim for the center. Didn’t check the temp until I pulled it off. If I was monitoring it better I would have pulled it off sooner
