I did the steaks last night, 20 mins on smoke with only some salt and pepper on them (NY Strip). Then bring the temp up and grill those suckers. Everyone sucked those things down, after doing them in the house the past few times because the super cold weather and me not wanting to deal with it for the relative short time it takes outside it's AMAZING how much more flavor you get doing it this way.

    From their website...
This is the pride of Texas. We offer 100% Hill Country Oak smoked brisket. It is a full untrimmed smoked brisket between 6-7 pounds in weight, and feeds 8-10 people. Don't worry about cutting, we have a nifty "How To" video to perfect your cutting skills.

Good lord man, $120 for that chunk of meat then another $70 on top of that to have it shipped. I guess the bright side if you are getting dinner while they bend you over.

Just keeps me thinking how many full briskets we can all make for that amount of money. I mean I can see higher shipping costs as it's got to be shipped quick and packed with dry ice most likely but this shipping itself seems really high. Just looked at their site they have a package that comes with a Yeti cooler $625. Looked at the restaurant menu also $7.99 for 1/2 pound of brisket, if it's a full 7lbs that comes to like $112 in the store (still way high) I would say the $120 is because they add some sort of side but according to the site if you don't want the side it add's another $10 to remove it lol.

No. The cost is that high because there is a market for it.

Oh no doubt there. I'm just not that target market. I would venture to guess most here aren't. :D

:rofl:Actually I was taking the stereotype more to the people in this thread.

Now I just need to figure out how to get people to pay me $120 for my brisket so I can buy more stuff to feed my obsession. errr I mean HOBBY. Ya that's the word.

Shit, you may be on to something there. Nah, all the costs of complying with various regulations about food safety is probably why their prices are so stupid.

Im cheap so I make my own rub and can make 3 14-15lb briskets for their price of one 6-7lb brisket.

yeah I still only do one at time and sometimes ribs/chicken. Im planning on building a water tank smoker at some point. I have access to one big water tank and a couple 50 gallon water tanks. I just have to get off my bum and get to cutting.
