My buddy and I are starting to plan out a food truck idea. We're in the boston area and we're planning on buying an old delivery truck or ice cream truck and converting it into a sandwhich shop basically. We need some name ideas, inside joke with " 'Merica!" that we want to do some thing with and we were wondering if anybody has any experience with this kind of thing or any suggestions as far as legal or business goes. Thanks guys.

Jus becareful and keep the truck spotless on the inside. I hear the health codes are alot tougher than in a normal restaurant. Good luck and keep us updated.

This is our logo as of now and our name. We just need to put our business plan together a little bit better and find a truck.

Do steak. Best thing out here are steak plate lunches. You usually get 8oz or so steak a couple scoops of rice and a little bit of salad for less then $7. Cant beat the price and its the best lunch you can have. There use to be a truck outside the back gate of our university. Would go there at least 3x a week before or after baseball practice.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd completely go patriotic and star spangle banner that truck from stem to stern with red, white, blue and chrome. Airbag that SOB truck and don't forget the Dixie horn. Sell home made apple pie and ice cream for desert. Sell 12" long corn dogs (I love those things) and sweet potatoe fries w butter. Real beer battered onion rings.

Number 1 fast food seems to be hamburgers.

Get involved with construction sites. Union guys have breaks mid-morning (9:00 ish) and then again for lunch. If you're punctual and priced right, you'll have a constant flood every day the project is going on. You'll have some stiff competition though since there are already trucks that do this and are established. Another option, park that thing in Harvard Square at lunch time when school is in session. Good luck!

I'm sure your going to use quality stuff but its the little things that set places apart. How the local pizza joints use bread with low protein this one place uses like triple the others and all meat pepperonis little stuff set people apart. Idk if your going to have hot stuff but the health department is crazy (or was with us) about bean temperature and cold temp too. I wish you the best of luck and am interested in seeing were this goes. Not many food trucks in my location.

in Boston you need to go with a theme. Maybe sports, the Red Sox fenway frank, have the Larry Bird Sandwich, the Tom Brady PLatter, oversided Zdeno Chara lobster roll, shit like that. Boston is a big sports town

or do fresh seafood, it is boston afterall
