Josh that salad looks good. Sounds like honey prosecco dressing would be good.

Omg why did I come to this thread BEFORE dinner? Now I'm STARVING!

Grabs left over sammich from lunch to snack on.

Speaking of which, Harris Teeter has a sub that comes with:

    1. Roast chicken breast
    2. Sliced steak (think steak and cheese type meat)
    3. Bacon
    4. Banana peppers
    5. Lettuce
    6. Tomatoes
    7. Salt and pepper
    8. Chipotle pepper sauce

And it's very tasty... 3.99 for the 6 inch :)

^ oh, yum.... and a good price!

We went out to get Korean food for dinner. The place is newish, called Spoon and it's in Berkeley CA. The same people own another place called Bowl'd in Albany, which offers some alcohol, a somewhat bigger menu as well as slightly higher prices. I love both places and almost always get the BBQ (usually spicy pork) with the awesome million little yummy side dishes, banchan. I didn't ever have Korean food or Vietnamese food growing up. When I graduated and moved out to CA, I learned what I'd been missing!

I literally remembered to take these photos just for TW. Haha!

Oh, it looks like apparently my phone was drunk for that first one. It's a shame bc the kim bap rolls were so pretty (they had tons of brightly colored veggies) as well as delicious. I'll have to go back during daylight hours and order them again, just for photo purposes. Damn.

Oh yum! And your pic looks much more appetizing!

I'll mail you some of it, but no guarantees you'll appreciate that package when it arrives. Hmm.

There is a greasy spoon joint here in Oakland where you can get a spicy pork and kim chee omelet. Or get a bowl of the spicy pork over kim chee with a sunny side up egg on top. I never would have eaten any of it ten years ago-- the variety and quality of food is one really good side to California. Plus the coffee's great and I don't ever have to shovel snow just to be able to get to work.

    back to bone stock.
Korean? maybe you can explain something to me. i eat at a soft tofu joint..i love me some soon do bu jihge. love it. they always serve it up with a stone bowl of rice. (two lone peas on top)..they scoop out the rice, and then we let the rest just sizzle and get crisp. with the Korean diners, they move about and pour hot water (could be tea) into the bowls to make some sort of burnt rice slurry. they NEVER ask us if we want the water..

what gives? i would turn down the water because i like breaking chunks of crispy rice into my soup.

and do you think the dol sot bi bim bap is any better than the cold bowl version?

Not sure what they are adding to their bowls but its probably tea water which Koreans like to drink but not positive. Soon doobu is the bomb though!! :D
