    marinade for fish

    90% teriyaki
    10% soy
however much you think you need to cover your fish.
fresh ginger run thru a micro planer (to taste)
    some minced garlic.

let it sit for atleast 30 mins. (mine sat overnight)

grill a couple mins on each side just so fish is cooked thru. (not a rare serving like tuna)

    for the veggies.

cut em up how you please...add what you please..

I like zucchini, mushrooms, and onion

i put some minced garlic in a tiny bit of olive oil to get things going
then added teriyaki and onion for a few minutes
then add zucchini and a little more teriyaki (cook for a minute or two)
then add mushroom and a tad more teriyaki

cook till everthing is done to your liking

sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and fold in

Made a cheap version of jambalaya, no seafood and quick. Onions, celery, black beans, red beans 2 cups of rice 3 cups of stock and a little more or less of a cup of water. I made the rice like risotto, added the fluid slowly so the rice cooked with the natural pan juices.

    Grilled a porterhouse

Washed it down with a Stella that came in a 10 pack fridge pack. They are 14.9 ounces each. Really good....

Sounds good. If you have a garlic press try pressing the ginger over the marinade and into the bowl. You get small pieces and all of the ginger juice goes into the marinade.

Nothing special but I'm making some turkey soup today...got a cold last week and didn't have a container of "emergency soup" in the freezer (I always try to keep some on hand for when I'm sick) :( so I had to suffer through with canned soup. Making a giant pot of soup today so I can stock up for the next cold!

Anyone else ever try putting butter in your soup stock? I thought it sounded a little weird at first but its actually good, just gives it a richer flavor all around

    Good!
 I thought it was weird because I was watching Paula Deen on TV when she threw butter in the soup pot...and she'll put butter on everything! But then I saw other chefs putting butter in soup so last year I tried it and it was amazing!

i was going to say bacon too!

And Lawrys season salt.....yummy, EVERYTHING gets Lawrys.....and Lea and Perrins Worstershire.

I actually carry Lea and Perrins, Lawrys, McCormicks pepper and sea salt in the truck.

The sea salt is for my Mexican beers, gotta buy limes fresh though. The rest is for the "impromptu" steaks, chicken, etc at whomevers house I happen to go to cause no one REALLY knows how to cook a steak or BBQ:cool:
