    not quite
tater tot casserole was a favorite of mine growing up. one day the local newspaper did a feature in the food section on the kitchen at the state prison and how they prepared meals for such a large number of people. one of the recipes that they mentioned was tater tot casserole. I started teasing my mom that she had been serving prison food all those years and the nickname sort of stuck.
there are lots of different versions of the recipe but the staples seem to be soup/milk, tots and burger.

:notsure: It is super easy and tasty...what more do you want?!?! And kids love it. I have yet to meet a picky kid who doesn't like it.

Here is how I make tater tot casserole. One of my favorites.
    8x8 pan
    Brown 1lb of burger
1 can of cream of mushroom soup spread over the top
    Can of green beans drained
    Layer of Velveeta
    Layer of tater tots

Bake at 425 for 30 min.

    Looks nice mon :)

Being that I live in the subtropical shithole Gods-waiting-room known as Florida, one of the few perks is being able to grill year-round.

Thus, I've noticed a pattern develop: higher fat, more nummy steaks that are grillin' steaks get made exclusively on the grill. Lower fat steaks (NY strips, for instance) I never grill any more, and go with a pan sear cook method with a sauce following.

Family much happier. And, really, it's almost like parking a Volkswagon next to a Ferrari and going "Hey, they're both cars!"

TECHNICALLY, you're correct....but they are entirely different things and only passingly both called cars...or in this case, steaks!

Could have made scalloped potatoes from scratch for less, and tastier...

Haha that recipe is close enough! :) There is different ways to make it and I add a can of corn to mine for a little more texture but you can add any vegetable you want. If you Google it you can find the different ways to make it.
