Made some cornish hens over the week-end. Came out really tender.

For my daughter's 11th birthday yesterday. We asked her where she want to go eat for celebration and she said she wanted to eat at home and I had to grill her a steak. She is a meat eater just like her daddy.
Rib-eye, marinaded in Moore's, sprinkled with some Garlic & Herb spices and a little bit of Mesquite BBQ spice.
Corn, garlic mashed potatos, and tomato, mozzerella and basil salad - also her favorites.
    IMG_steak.jpg

Also the first time for me to try out my cast iron steak plates. Keeps the food hot while eating. Awesome - I don't like cold steak. I had similar plates in South Africa and have been looking for a along time, and found these at a Lodge outlet in Tennessee a while ago.

I hear you on that. I justify it by telling myself that the same steak at a restaurant would have been 3x the price. And I can grill it just as good as any restaurant, if I may say so myself.

But I can only do it about once a week, and always look for specials if possible.

I just wont pay for beef based on principle. If everyone did that maybe cost would go down.I live on chicken and hamburger.I'm not trying to put anyone down but when I go to Costco or Safeway and see 7.99lb.I say no way.

Hamburger is still somewhat affordable.Where cuts I used to buy like different cuts of steak n tri-tip are priced crazy high.

I don't eat beef too often. I'm getting fat :)

But when I do : it's usually a "go big or go home" type of ordeal. This was my thanksgiving. Too busy to snap a pic off it cooked. I grill roasted it on my weber with apple wood.
