Fathers Day week is going good so far.

Grilled chicken earlier this week when I was home alone. Then mushroom bacon cheese burger last night. Good ham steak brunch this morning.

I'm guessing they're cooked under the bacon to absorb the fat drippings and become tasty.

Did some oysters on the grill last night. After we cracked them open I put a little olive oil, butter, lemon, garlic, parsley mix on them.

The bacon fat drip on the fries. Wasn't really planned that way or any recipe or anything. I was going to put the fries and bacon in the oven, separate, but my wife was using the oven for desert, so I decided to combine everything on the grill, and why not try something different. It worked!
The fries were not (overly) greasy at all - less greasy than deep fried fries. Just good flavor.

Working on my homemade pizza recipe. One thick crust, one napoletana style. The napoletana blew my mind it was so good. The crust cold fermented for 3 days in the fridge.

    And a Lil Sumpin.

Scallops are pretty much the only bivalve I have any interest in.

For tonight: I've got two tri tips marinating since last night. Homemade tzatziki, too. Sweet white corn is in from Sloughhouse down the road. Friend is bringing cheesy potatoes. Finisihing off the leftover Fat Tire summer mix case from the baby barbecue a couple weekends ago, and got a couple sixers of Firestone IPA this evening before walking to the first concert in the park for the summer.

    Damn what an evening.

I have 2 Firestone Easy Jack's in the fridge. Not really my style. Disappointed.

It has been a while since I've been into my food since fixing up the old house and getting set up in the new house. Wifey got into her frenchy cooking (and lots of other stuff), so I've been slacking off except the occasional grilling and eggy bacon breakfastses. The baby barbecue was the first time we've had a full back patio here, so we kinda popped the cherry here I think and now I am more motivated.

I don't think I've had Easy Jack. The IPA has nice flavor, but much lower alcohol than many IPAs these days at 4.5 and a bit lighter, so I think it makes a good session beer, specially on hot days. Reminds me of a few similar Utah brews with limited alcohol.

That raw tuna looks amazing, not bad cooked either. Love seared tuna, normally do mine in a little teriyaki. Bet it's delicious.
