    You have to eat duck rare. Otherwise it sucks. People who have tried duck and don't like it usually have eaten duck that is too well done. It's super rich and intense. Over-cook it and it's basically liver. No good.

    Came across a recipe the other day for spaghetti where you cook the noodles directly in the sauce, instead of boiling separately. Gave it a try and turned out terrific.

    Seared some minced garlic in olive oil in the pan, then added sauce and noodles. Let sit for 18 minutes on medium heat, meanwhile threw a couple chicken patties in the toaster oven to add at the end. Sliced them up and mixed in with the noodles/sauce, then topped with some shredded mozzarella, parmesan cheese, and oregano. The sauce really sticks to the noodles using this method, and had leftovers the next day - tasted like it came directly from a fancy Italian restaurant.

    That's because you retain the starch by cooking them in the sauce. Pasta starch water is a little known secret... next time you make some pasta and drain the water, keep about a cup of the water to gradually add to your finished mixed pasta/sauce if needed. Keeps everything from tightening up too much. You can even use just the starch water with a little bit of butter for something like Cacio de Pepe. Hell, I even add it to Kraft M&C when I make that for the grandkid. Just makes the finished product better.

    I didn't see anyone being an ass.

    Handle a little bit of sarcasm, which is exactly what it was. A little bit.

    Made this last night.. linguini, zucchini, squash, garden cherry tomatoes, garlic, butter, olive oil, red onion, and kale.

    I tend to add it to things yeah, since it comes in a bunch you either have to use it or let it turn into goo.

    Been putting it in smoothies and whatever else.

    SpruceJPG sounded like he wasn't aware of what I brought up, so to say that EVERYBODY knows that is a stupid thing to say. Was just trying to help, don't need some snide crap out of left field coming back at me unless that is what people do here, putting sarcasm in every post. If that's the case, then yeah, I'm too new here.

    Indeedly do.

    Never been a fan of kale chips. The powdered flavoring is always.. hippie flavored either immediately or in after taste. We have made our own in the oven with just some salt and pepper and they're pretty good. Not my thing but I eat them.

    I find it easy to add to food, like spinach is. I like the flavor it adds to smoothies as well, it tastes grassy and earthy. I also love beets and wheat grass juice for similar reasons.

    Sarcastic = yes.

    Smart ass just for something to do while ignoring and / or distorting the original intent of what you're being sarcastic about = no.

    One of my sisters pulled a fast one on me last year with kale chips, she says hey I'm gonna make some chips you want any, i I instantly said sure thinking it was gonna be fatty potato chips and then 30 mins later there are these green pieces of plant in front of me and I'm thinking wtf is this shit, I ate one without seasoning and thought I was gonna die but she then added salt/pepper and lemon juice and I have now embraced the hippie snack known as kale chips.

    TL;DR

    add fresh lemon juice makes them super delicious
