I wish I could say that this year. We built a new house and it was finished in like Feb. Been so busy with the 1000 other projects around here we didn't get to plant anything. Haven't even got to go to the farmers market so far. Missing some good fresh veggies.

New houses always take it out of you. Somehow I was able to build our garden in our new house just prior to the season starting. There is always next year!

Birthday dinner for my son. All his favorites; grilled pork chop, shrimp, loaded baked potato and broccoli with cheese sauce. First time having pork and shrimp together, but hey, it worked.

Camp Cutthroat was an evil comedy disguised as a cooking show.

His articles about the intricacies of food science in Mental Floss are great reads, too. Convinced me to start salting my grapefruit.

He wiped out and broke something in that show...arm or leg, IIRC

Alton's work is great. So is Kenji Lopez-Alt over at Serious Eats if you've never heard....they're actually similar in a lot of ways

Kenji has actually done a couple of vids with Alton. Some googling may in order for ya.

Kenji actually just came out with a massive book "The Food Lab" subtitled 'Better home cooking through science' if that gives it away :)

Seriously...you've seen me in here long enough to know I'm not farting around. If you like Alton's work, spend some time looking at Kenji's. Serious Eats is a commercial website tha tI don't much care for any more, but Kenji posts there with his Food Lab handle, and that alone makes it worthwhile.

I was "that guy" at work today. If looks could kill, there'd be a memorial thread already.

I microwaved fish in the break room.

In my defense, at least it wasn't kimchee. One of our floor's denizen's is retired Army and has a Korean wife.

Some of the things he warms up are heaven in a bowl.

Neither of which are burnt popcorn or microwaved fish.
