yeah that stinks...Ive been putting off shoulder surgery for a number of years now...I dont want it to interfere with my fishing or hunting;) This year I'd like to put in for a bull moose draw tag...seems like a lot of first timers get drawn. I got a controlled hunt elk tag 2 years in a row. So maybe my luck will be good with the Moose drawing.

    Damnrite !!!!!

Very fun hunt could be had there.

Went to see the surgeon that took 4 months to get into see.....he took scans and x-rays of my shoulders & knees.

49 years old and both knees and right shoulder need to be replaced.

He shot 'em up with the juice that day....and prescribed some daily meds to take the place of all the Advil I was taking (Voltarin).

Two months later I had an accident and had to have a disc replaced. A year out from that now and 75% recovered, but my knees & shoulder replacement have been put on hold.

My son better understands now why I didn't let him play football, lol.

I will likely miss turkey season this year.....but deer & ducks will be played in the fall/winter.

Good luck! Yeah I was talking today about turkey hunting and as much as Im on the trails I run into them all the time, so I dont get too excited anymore;) I do like calling and getting them to come in.

Sounds like you have a place to hunt which is always good. You get any hogs where you hunt?

Based on my previous years of uncertainty health-wise....I backed out of the clubs & leases.

This year will be public land hunting. Local WMA's and such.

    We'll see how it goes.

Last club was 10,000 acres of swampland along the river. Gators aplenty to wake you up while walking to your stand......and you'd see 1/2 dozen or more water moccasins each hunt.....all season. Sadly....I used my Glock 10mm way more than I ever used my .270.

Hawgs were what you hunted in the offseason.

I had almost a pound of ground elk in the fridge and I wanted to try out a breakfast sausage from Cabelas. So I mixed it up last night and fried it up this morning for breakfast, And it was decent...still not exactly what I was looking for but getting close.

Typically if you start to cook all your meals with good products and plan accordingly, you save money in the long run.

Unless of course your previous diet was dollar meal items every day and every meal. Then you're just going to die quick.

I harvest most of my protein :)infantry:) which helps alot with money i guess and we basically only buy chicken and pork (bacon for the most part on the latter) and we usually get chicken thighs/leg quarters which i find on sale often for 30-50 cents per pound in a 10 lb bag. If you arent super picky veggies can be pretty cheap too, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions etc all kind of veggies for under $1 a lb. I dont eat rice or noodles but they are cheap as dirt and go a long way with a meal. Unless you are only eating expensives cuts of meat with meat sides cooking is way cheaper than ordering haha but i guess if u order meat with meat sides that gets pricey too

Oh I agree. The thing is, I tend to cook too much food, and I don't like leftovers more than once, unless they are really tasty. We do freeze a lot of leftovers but some don't take well to that. Consequently we throw away enough food to feed a small African nation. :(

Yeah, it always feels good polishing off the old leftovers. My wife and I typically take them for lunch the next day so they don't last long.
