Good Sunday supper!

 

Had another shell leftover so I used it to make another pie this morning for brunch for the family.

Followed the recipe below, leaving out the red bell pepper and some of the cheese....and added broccoli & sliced portabellas. I use refrigerated pie crust vs making it from scratch. One day I'll follow the recipe verbatim and see how it turns out.


Tasty eats that are mighty filling. I should have used more tomato slices and had better coverage on the top. My wife and I both really like the flavor the bake tomato slices add to the overall savory flavor.

 

Damnit! I love to hate that song! Thanks for getting it stuck in my head!

so on the 1st Wednesday of each month, my church has a potluck (it's themed so potluck may not be the right term but its the closest I have) anyway, tonight is sandwiches and salads, so my wife said that we would make lemon pepper chicken salad, and I was like cool, since I didn't have time to cook a chicken today I told her to just grab a rotisserie chicken while she was out today. she said she wasn't feeling well and was just gonna get the chicken on the way to church, and I said "i don't think that will be very good because it wont have time to cool off" and she said "i was just gonna tear it up and put in on lettuce" to which I replied "oh I thought we were gonna make lemon pepper chicken salad, not a lemon pepper chicken salad"... English is kinda dumb

 

$18 for a chicken??

 

chicken salad sammich with some cranberries in it is really good!

 

4.50 per lb not sayin it aint high but i would charge that much if i raised em from eggs and plucked and dressed and packaged em

 

seems excessive for a plain old chicken to me...Im used to the price around here around $5 a chicken...

that's actually what I'm having for supper tonight on salad form not in it

 

Gonna try out some of the pork belly saturday. Gonna salt/season the fat side and sear it then cook it in the crockpot of a layer of onions and do up some faux bbq stuff baked potatoes with some of it and do some pork belly tacos with some (and hope to utilize those pig juice soaked onions on them tacos)

 

Not my recipe, just my execution....

Grilled ball tip, tomato jam, cilantro cream cheese, pickled broccoli slaw.

 

Just the tip, mind you.

 

Beans and rice.
