Teenage T-Rex said his girlfriend would be doing us for dinner.....she's averse to meat.....but we've been making inroads...she ate lobsta & crab cakes last night, salmon the other night.....eggs quite often for breakfusses......progress. She may be onto wangs 'n ribs at some point

Looking at the labels of the stuff she eats and I see that there is something missing.....cholesterol. She may be onto something relevant to my goals.

All things in moderation is my motto.

So.....got started on the beans early on....Bush's has always been great....so I went with their "vegetarian" version and doctored it up with the usual suspects.

Ran two skillets to keep the convicts separated......veggie burgers & veggie hot dogs......Hebrew Nationals.....chedda-bacon burgers in the other. Everyone played nicely and came on up to cruising & eating temps together.

We will see how things roll from here.

I saw the other day that the veggie dogs are bad for ya. Not just bad tasting.

Most of my knife use has been whittled down to one simple blade.....a wide-bladed santoku knife.....sumo santoku. It does most of my vegetable prep....the meat work gets other knives on it.....ones that I don't mind running through the dishwasher and such.

I paid about that for the one santoku, yet it's a bargain.....as Shun has a sharpening service and the knife gets used for just about everything other than meat/bones.

If I ever decide to become a proper Ninja.....I'll have one of these Shun santokus in each hand.

    Thanks.

She's been a super influence on him in every way that we can see.........thusly I don't mind going the extra mile to do the veggie-stuff.

I wouldn't have a clue......I'm learning as I go. I thought vegetables were a side dish to the actual meat that was the main entree. This is some new ground for me.

I saw some video talking about hot dogs and which you should eat and shouldn’t. They just said the veggie ones where on the no fly list. :)

Wasn’t an issue for me since I’m a meatatarian.

Finally got around to trying KFC! Came out great! Made some roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts to go with it.

Skin came out super crispy, it was awesome!

2lbs ckn thighs (boneless, skin on or off)
    1c soy sauce
1/2 c vinegar (I use Filipino vinegar or rice vinegar)
    2tbsp brown sugar
    3/4 tbsp black pepper
    3-5 cloves garlic minced
    3-5 bay leaves

Combine all ingredients minus ckn in a heavy bottom pot

Add ckn and submerge, coat well

Bring to boil, lower to simmer, cover for 20-30 min

Uncover, flip, simmer for another 20-30 min

You want sauce to thicken up a little.

Remove bay leaves, serve over white rice.

Woke up this mooring....worshiped at the alter that is my coffee maker.......was greeted with strong java.

Only two eggs remaining......but I remembered 5 eggs there after breakfuss yessaday. Looks like somebody had some boiled eggs for snacks.

Two eggs left......figured they'd be leveraged further with French toast than anything else.

Had some leftover hot country sausage to go along with it.

So......made a run today to ensure I wouldn't be out of eggs mañana........and found a gallon of this goodness that I'd heard about.

    [IMG] Great taste and strong.

Her lunch was made up and she said it was great.

Kids made it home later on......well before what I thought was dinnatime......and demanded emancipation from hunger.

I had the goods so I went ahead and delivered.

Skillet fired up for hush puppies........
