    It was crispy, fried at 350# for 14 minutes. I was happy with how crispy the skin was and how well it stuck to the chicken. Soaked in buttermilk for 24 hours.

    This was just seasoned flour and seasoned the chicken then fried in peanut oil...

    I've never actually fried chicken before but I want to give it a shot. Do you have an actual fryer or did you use something else? If its pretty easy, can your share your recipe, haha?:p

    I did give the recipe, you just have to put all the parts together. I used peanut oil which has a high smoking point. It really helped too that I used my dutch oven style pot with porcelain interior. Nothing stuck and it didnt burn and had a very consistent oil temp throughout. Worked out well, if you have any specific questions let me know

    And it was very easy. Once the chicken was in the oil just make sure its not touching then set timer for 14 minutes.

    So I've started working hard at my Freshman 15 with grilled cheeses.
    First one was a failure but still delicious:

    I've found that if you mix a little bit of Mayo in with your butter the bread will cook longer and let the cheese melt better.

    Made an apple pie Sunday and just cut for desert a few mins ago. Turned out pretty good. I put more corn starch in it then the recipe and that took care of the juice problem I was having. I put more apples then the recipe and that worked better but am going to go for even more apples next time. Got the apples for 79 cents per lb. Eating in season:D
