Waffle iron wednesday

 

I would argue that any item that is cooked on a waffle iron is indeed a waffle, which by nature, takes it's name by the shape and not the cooking instrument.

 

Ok then I dont cook anything resembling by definition, a traditional waffle nor a food who is commonly already named "waffle" on waffle iron Wednesday... Strickly non waffle foods cooked in a waffle iron every wednesday

 

Well I have make cakes and biscuits (which could be eaten with butter or syrup) on it before but a pineapple upside down cake waffle does not roll off the tongue well... But it goes down smooth.

Did some steaks on the chimney last night. Two 8oz filets brought to room temp, seasoned with sea salt and black pepper. Exactly 2 min 30 sec on each side, little bit of butter added 30 seconds before removing from the flame. 5 minutes rest afterwards. Turned out amazing. Only complaint was some of the edges got a little too burnt due to flare ups. Next time going to wait for the coals to get a little lower before throwing the steaks on, also might drop cooking time to 2 min 15 seconds per side. Garlic Taters and Lemon Pepper Broccoli to round off the meal.

 

have you cooked a steak yet in the waffle iron??

 

No... Bologna gave me a bad impression for steak but the spam may have rekindled some hope for it...

 

Sausage, Egg, Cheese in a waffle batter cook in the waffle iron sounds good.

 

Inside waffle batter? Are the eggs precooked because there is already an egg in waffle batter? Also I did bacon egg and cheese biscuits in the waffle iron... And they indeed were good

 

Scrambled eggs in a waffle would work.

Or try to make a McWaffle?

 

Either way would be good but I was thinking scrambled eggs in it, sausage already cooked up so you're not waiting for those ingredients to cook just the waffle itself to cook and the cheese to melt.

 

I'm down. When are we coming over for breakfast?

 

Man I have myself wanting that now and my waffle iron crapped out a while back and haven’t bought a new one.

Just checking it out. I was thinking about doing on of the two sides flip over ones like my friend has. Been wanting to try some Belgian waffles with the pearl sugar in them.

This is the one my friend has and it seems to do a good job (bought it for him for Christmas about 4 years ago).
