With me it’s never really been just about the taste of salmon, it’s the oily mouth feel. I know it filled with lots of good stuff and I’ve tried it many times over the years but just can’t get into it. Now having said that my friend and I smoked some salmon for a friend and when we had a big party he brought over this salmon dip he made with it and I have to say that was pretty darn good.

...^^^... I am not a fan of the oily taste either ... but ... it keeps your gizzard & heart lubricated and running in good order ...

Surf & turf tonight. NY strip and shrimp, baked potato and green beans. My son is enjoying and learning the art of grilling. No need to go to a restaurant to eat good.

...^^^... That would be one of my favorite all time meals .... looks fantastic ....

I would add a baguette of french bread (with real butter) or some garlic bread and a glass of red wine and I would be in heaven.

Worth it. It’s good enough to eat your own weight in it.

One of our staples tonight. Lamb chops, brats and grits. We make a tomato/onion sauce/gravy for the grits - yummy good eats.IMG_20190516_180714.jpg IMG_20190516_181729.jpg

never really ate lamb for most my military career, then went to a few Greek restaurants to eat and found out how good it was! Its expensive but good. Similar to Venison IMO.

I grew up on a ranch in South Africa. We had 1200 head of sheep so lamb (actually mutton over there) was a staple. We had that about 4 or 5 times a week, and it was free. I struggle with the prices here - some places ask more than $12/lb for back chops. So I don't get it as much as I want to.
