Earlier I it was steak and cheese. Sadly my torpedo rolls went all blue fuzz on me so wraps it was.

I mase some carne con Chile last week following a recipe (kinda) and I wasn't really a fan. The chile was heavily tomatillo based and I didn't enjoy it. This time I used regular tomatoes and it MUCH better. Didn't have any potatoes left but now I know how to make it for the next time.

Saw this recipe in People mag. Chilled ramen with grilled shrimp. HUGE success with the lady. She said it needs to be in the rotation. Super simple.

Thanks a lot, @jester156. My wife saw me looking at you post and she said I have to make it. With a few gluten friendly adjustments.

She just came home with a few ingredients I need for a revisit of the Spicy Mandalorian Stew and also this:

    20200920_152614.jpg

Spicy, of course, but I don't really like the taste.

The aforementioned Spicy Mandalorian Stew. No apples, extra potatoes, carrots and celery and a touch extra soy sauce. Quinoa rice stuff still needs a bit more cooking but with 10 extra minutes of cooking, it's better.

I've grown Ghost peppers and Carolina Reapers. They were both screaming hot, but had an odd aftertaste. I put 1 reaper in a pot of chili and ruined it. It warmed it up some, but that taste. :puke:

Yep, I've grown them and still have some in the freezer. Odd, they have been in there for years, I use them sometimes but... not any freezer burn or frost on them. They look and taste like the day I froze them. o_O

Carolina Reaper have a citrus type taste to go along with that heat. I can’t imagine that would be good in chili. I don’t like my chili to taste like citrus fruit.

Sweet corn bread... From a box... That is at least real butter on it right lol

I made a pan last night myself to go with some chili. It barely stuck because the skillet wasnt quite hot enough when I put the batter in

The taste didn't remind me of citrus but I can't describe the taste. Reapers had a sweet taste for about 3 seconds, then hang on that's getting hot!

Real butter on it and in it. It was, and leftover is, good.
