    Well I bought a 20-pound turkey this weekend!! Been having it thaw out in the fridge since Saturday. Wish me luck since this will be my first turkey that I have ever cooked!!!:eek:

    No not frying it. Being a firefighter I like to play with fire so I dont think the outcome will be good, haha. I'm just going to use the ol' oven and cook it that way. I was watching Food Network all day yesterday on all the thanksgiving specials and it doesnt seem hard to cook at all.:cool:

    Yeah I got a cooking bag for it, then I think I will bast it with some melted butter, EVOO, fresh cracked pepper and then some Tony Chachere's "more spice" for a little kick to it. What do you guys think?

    Yeah the skin pretty much separates itself. It is a tough skin to actually rip but it will separate easily and you can get to the meat itself with the butter. I did just watch Bobbie Flay put a pretty decent coat on top of the skin on Food Network from last year.

    He also stated a good idea which I usually do also, after the breast is cooked thoroughly cut the drumstick, thighs and wings off and put them back in the roasting pan to continue cooking with out over cooking the breast.

    Oh okay, makes sense. I probably wont do that this time around, haha. I need to get familiar with cooking it normal style, then I can do some mods after that first one!

    Well that is the normal way to cook it so that the breast doesnt get over cooked.

    Yeah those are pieces you would normally cut off anyway to serve so it wont ruin your presentation. If you need any help I will be around on Thursday. I have to work so let me know.
