There are supposedly some really good online places you can order it from! One thing I'll say though, the ranch by me is obviously "American wagyu". Some people hate on it because it's not "real" (Japanese) wagyu which has even more marbling. Having had both, the Japanese wagyu really does have an awesome, unique flavor to it, but do not underestimate how rich it is.. I like rich foods (steaks included), but the Japanese wagyu is almost too much, certainly too much to finish an entire steak the size I posted. So IMO the "lower quality" American wagyu actually winds up being better because you can actually eat the whole dang thing.

I couldn’t keep it together and blew my wad, doing my Super Bowl ribs today instead of waiting for tomorrow. Not sorry.

Tonight was taco Monday and ya I'm a day early for tacos. Made it with just the McCormick taco seasoning and some killer local raised beef. Though it was just a store bought mix the meat made all the difference.

    Calling all home cooks.
I’m in a serious need for new cutlery.

Need the regular home set and steak knives.

is Damascus the way to go or something else?

is 300 bucks cheap for a knife set?

    Help me decide!

^^^ ... I precooked the salmon a day before and then cut up some peppers and onions and sautéed with olive oil and honey on the outdoor cooker.

^^^ ... This is after a couple minutes being tossed in a hot skillet. The onions were a little too done.

^^^ ... The above pic was 2 days ago and I cooked the same dish today and it was much better .... larger onion slices and less honey and olive oil (I took no pics today though).

I have a set of these steak knives and they’re great.
    https://www.zwilling.com/us/zwillin...cgid=our-brands_zwilling_cutlery_sets#start=1
A full on set of various knives really isn’t necessary. Start off with a quality 8” chefs knife, a 6” paring knife, a good cutting board and a diamond sharping stone. Always hand wash and dry your knives, never leave them to dry in the sink. The edge will start to pit from minute rust and dull quickly.
The quality companies all have various levels of knifes so you can pick your price point. As your needs grow you can buy what you need. Buy quality and think of them as an investment, I have a 8” Japanese chefs knife that I’ve had for 25yrs.
    Look at https://www.zwilling.com/us/zwilling/cutlery/ and

I am a fan of J.A.Henckels. But as you said, they have different price points. I would go with "made in Germany" blades as a starting point.

We didn’t buy nuts regularly before the wife was diagnosed with celiac. Now that everything has a premium added (gluten free related), $8 is normal for that as a regular snack or incorporated into a meal. Such is life, we never really looked into it. Thanks for pointing it out. It looks like we’ll start roasting deez nuts as an alternative.
