I need some advice on "broth" ... since I am a novice cook.

I am making some simple homemade vegetable soup in a small crockpot for a daily snack ... frozen veggies and boxed (low sodium) broth.

I use regular broth and I see "bone broth" ... I am guessing it is made with the bones of the chicken, therefore more nutrients and calcium ?

The "bone broth" is about twice the expense and does it really make a difference in taste and etc. ?

Any and all info is appreciated ... and thanks in advance ...

Per my recent post .... for you military SOS people ... my buddy sent me this ... it looks like Walmart has the stuff in a frozen format with Bob Evans.

FWIW ... I have eaten at a Bob Evans restaurant and it was very good (especially their breakfast) ... had their frozen items too (no SOS though) and it was pretty good.

I will try some at Walmart next week. :hungry:

Next month ... I will make some from scratch.

Personally I think "Bone Broth" is just a buzz word. I usually purchase the cheapest stock and if it needs additional flavor I will add brisket fat that I render down and save or use a little bit of Better than bullion.

Made some black bean pancakes??? They weren't really burgers and I didn't exactly know what I was doing but they pour like pancakes so that's what I'ma call em. Fried in bacon grease... Served with cheddar and bacon

    back to bone stock.
in an effort to freak myself out tonight when I pee...I made Borscht!! found a pretty straightforward Ukranian Version online and ran with it.

I shredded my chicken since I shared with my elderly neighbors..that way everyone can have a bit of chicken in their bowl. I think the real recipe puts a bone-in hunk in each bowl.
