Yup, ‘tis not a baguette…
Thankfully French Bread is plentiful here… white AND whole wheat.
As a kid, we would grab a fresh loaf when entering the grocery and put the empty bag on the checkout to pay for it on the way out with the rest of the groceries.

Chef Morimoto's Deep Fried Sticky Ribs-

Braise the ribs 3 1/2 hours w/onion, garlic, ginger, cooking wine and tamarind paste.



Cool & cut individually to deep fry. I set up a little frying station. Cornstarch-fry-sauce-repeat. I give them an extra minute to make them extra crispy but not dry.



As with all my recipes I guarantee you this one will make your wife's clothes come flying off.



A little chopped cilantro at the end really enhances the flavor. I've been to two of Morimoto's restaurants and love all his food but there is something missing in this recipe but I can't figure it out. It still rocks!

 

is it a spice, general flavor difference or tone?
Just wondering if it’s five spice, star anise, or something like that, or if it’s something different like brand of fish sauce, soy, or tamarind source.

I decided to REALLY spoil myself today for dinner, with surf-n-turf!

Ribeye steak, shrimp (with spicy cocktail sauce) and a baked potato (with sour cream, butter, cheddar cheese and bacon).

Dang dude! That's some elevated stuff!
