Did BLAT's for dinner. (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avacado) Nothing wrong with 6 pieces of bacon?!


Then, the wife took the bacon grease and made Yorkshire Puddings! Crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside...And all is right in the world again...

 

Only 6 pieces? You amateur! Do 12 pieces next time. Go big or go home!

 

For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

 

Isn’t ‘McChicken sauce’ simply mayonnaise?

With the concentration of McDonald’s restaurants being licensed, I applaud you for supporting a ‘small business’ owner. They have the absolute strictest requirements for food expectations of any restaurant (proven through documentation and testing). I can get the exact same same meal prepared poorly at any location.

I’ll swing by on occasion and it’s fascinating to me. The initial model developed hasn’t changed, but the offerings do - a testament to their focus on fast food. Edible food at lightning speeds, what more could you ask for (other than three-for-free)?

Your rapport can be credited to the area you live in, not the intent of the business model. Frequency plays a major role in how the staff treat you, as in, is this guy one of ‘those people’ willing to make my life difficult or not? It looks like you have a good relationship with a company upholding high standards for consistency, I’m stoked for you!

McDonald’s is a fascinating organization, if you haven’t done any research.

 

Product offerings and consistency is where they excel. Employee performance is dictated by the local workforce. There are places where you are lucky they are willing to interrupt their day to take your money and give you something in return. Other places, it’s like a trip to grandmas house. Either way, it is the known in a world of unknowns. Had no idea there was a McChicken Sauce. Bravo!

My kids and I have a saying: “It’s just like McDonalds - full of disappointment.”

Try the movie called The Founder that stars Michael Keaton. It is a somewhat dramatized look at the McDonalds founding story.

 

I really enjoyed that film! I didn’t know there was a third party “involved” in the expansion.

That one was okay… I’m not much of one for the shock value of let’s see what we can get on camera. Investigative/Documentary films are best when the cameraman ISN’T the story. The narration only fills in what you wouldn’t be able to see or what needs a deeper explanation than the average viewer would grasp on their own. Interesting note: many company founders started at other franchises and had their own brilliant ideas. Interesting reads, shows, movies….

 

In terms of fast food chain stores: It is pretty sad to see a Burger King that was unlucky enough to be located next to a new In-N-Out.

In-N-Out has a line around the block and the only cars in the BK lot are the 2 employees.

 

Good Burger versus Mondo Burger.

 

Interesting question… so what’s your favorite burger (or burger joint)?

It is gone now (owner health), but the small Louisiana chain - Phil’s Grill…

 

@Kilo Charlie I took a page from your book and made some Mac n chicken. Grilled chicken thighs, sour cream and cream cheese mixed with a jalapeño/cheddar cheese dip mix packet, and some fresh jalapeno for extra kick. Not photogenic but super tasty!

That's hard! I loved rallys (however you spell it) when they were around. In n Out is always consistent and solid. I like the ones I make. Seriously though, I don't think there is a burger I don't like. It's like sex, and pizza, even if it's shitty it's still good.
