Supper last night (and leftovers for today).

Standard lasagna base, just replace the hamburger with pizza meat. Truth be told, it could have more meat (surprise, surprise, it's not like the picture) but it was still good.

On the scale of "I wouldn't even try it because I knew I wouldn't like it" to "I'm buying this again", this is a buy again.

 

Nice, I havent seen that one. Had Stouffers, not bad for premade.

 

Tortilla soup tonight.

 

No pictures but we did two family meals this weekend.

Good Friday brunch with my wife's family:
Pancakes
French toast
Bacon
Ham
Sausage
Schwartz's potatoes
Fruit salad
Cinnamon buns
Hot cross buns
Sugar cookies

Dinner on Saturday with my family:
Ham (veggie ham for my wife)
Scalloped potatoes
Deviled eggs
Carrots
Beets
Hot cross buns
Babka (traditional Ukrainian Easter bread)
Peanut butter cookies
Ginger sparkle cookies

 

Was in San Diego last week

Adobada and Carnitas tacos, chips and salsa, and to round it off, hung out at a beach bar on Wednesday night for sunset and had more Cadillac margaritas than I should have knowing I had a 10:45PM flight.......

 

I figured if you're going to try SPAM for the first time, you might as well make it weird SPAM.

 

It's just ham with bad PR.

Birthday meal. Volcano Chicken and Fuji Apple Sake from a local Thai restaurant.

The restaurant has a page in its menu that list the spice level of dishes:

0 - Standard
1 - Slightly Spicy
2 - Medium Spicy
3 - Very Spicy
4 - THAI SPICY

There isn't a choice for the Volcano Chicken. It only comes as a 1. My wife ordered a green curry and got a 2. We never go above that. It's got plenty of burn without killing your taste buds.

I can't even fathom Thai spicy.

I smelled sweeter than it tasted. It wasn't bad but it satisfied the curiosity and I won't be buying it again.

I conned my kid into making the Reese's brownies I picked up last week. There about to go into the oven.

 

At my local Thai place they ask you how hot on the 1-5 scale. I think at 5 the heat takes the flavor away but that's just me. Thai Spicy Ribs btw-

 

SPAM could be tolerable for some things if it just weren't so salty.

 

Was supposed to be on skewers, but I cut the bacon too short and after I pre cooked it, it shrank too much and didn't go all the way around the scallop.
