    Stock for now.. maybe

I get what you're saying now. Took it the wrong way. People have to cut corners alot just to make a living unfortunately. Its to bad most people don't have a livable wage. Minimum wage is so hard to live on... I know from the past. Unemployment is also hard to live on (current). Pandemic socks for my line of work.

A few weeks ago I was driving down I40, I thought I was going fast but everyone else was cutting lanes super close and hauling ass made me think like I was in Atlanta. Big truck small cars even a tacoma. Freaked me out. That shit scares the hell out of me because we all know most of them aren't paying attention like they should and they are driving like assholes... one mistake and we are all fu..ed

No. I disagree entirely. The Tacoma Driver had his lights on and unless his brake lights were out he is not guilty at all.

I'm going to be that other guy.

If you are so stupid that you don't know what a brake light means or you can't see the traffic piling up ahead of you then you should have your license revoked and not be allowed to drive at all.

Traffic was backed up for a mile in front of the Tacoma.

One of the reasons I use my 4 way flashers when suddenly slowing way down on the highway it almost instinct now and I have seen it save my ass for sure twice, want to get a brake light flasher relay to pulse the brake lights a few times when really slowing.

People just don't pay attention anymore, more concerned about who said what on their phones.

I for one welcome self driving cars. I really don't want one, but I feel they would be better for most folks.

By on duty, I presume you mean loading/unloading and anything not directly related to driving, including stops for food?

Sorry, my sympathy for any long haul truck driver is zero. My life was destroyed by a truck driver who was not paying attention to the road. Truckers have insurance companies that try to "bleed out" innocent accident victims, refusing to pay for damages or injuries. According to a Klickitat County judge, the truck driver who rearended me while stopped for a construction zone flagman was not responsible in the accident because "personal responsibility is not the basis of the law."
Since driving a truck is so difficult that the driver can't prevent hitting or killing innocent people, perhaps they could get a job more suited to their limited capabilities and lack of ambition.

It's not in every province, but if you hit fog, shitty conditions it could come in handy. You're probably the guy with no lights on in the dark and the fog - FREEDOM!

I've experienced this effect travelling between Chicago and Detroit in Michigan (forget the interstate). 4 hours of 30mph to 70mph back and forth with no accidents or hazard. Dumb people... i damn near popped a vein that day

Lmao imagine blaming the guy who got rearended because he avoided rearending the car in front of him and stopped for the road hazard.

“Stupid Tacoma driver! You shouldn’t have been stopped there!”

Rearended by a semi doing 50mph while stopped for a construction zone flagman; according to the NTSC report, the driver who was rearend was at fault "for impeding the semi truck's progress"

Lmao it’s interesting to watch those winter weather pile ups and see majority of the vehicles involved are semis driving too fast for conditions because they have better traction. I mean I’m not a trucker, but it doesn’t seem like nowadays, either a symptom of the pay scheme and culture or lack of training but plenty aren’t the best. But you also put 2 highly different vehicle types on the road, being semis and passenger vehicles, and your going to have frequent issues and gripes between.

Nope. But hey maybe in Canada common sense isn’t readily around so Government needs to help ya. Did you check in before logging on? :Dbut seriously I drive with my light on all the time because there is way to many that drive with heads in their ass.

Good idea in heavy fog, typical of nanny state laws to be based on speed and not fog though. :D And common sense works better than a law any day.

Haha! I'd say there is a lot more common sense here than in a lot of other countries, definitely not a nanny state.
Nova Scotia has that hazard light law probably because they are on the ocean and deal with a lot of adverse weather and tourists from down south.

Seems to me there is more to the accident than your telling, rear end collision is usually an at fault accident. I’m sure you enjoy the luxuries you do have, just remember everything you own or need is brought to you by truck. If your story is true, I would be more upset with the stupid attorney you hired. Understand your bitterness though, I hate everyone be
Definitely not the perfect job and some drivers have poor attitudes, but without trucks nobody will survive. Everything you have probably came by truck one way or another.
