Footwell Lights On With Headlights

I have a set of footwell lights that I want to be on whenever the headlights are on. My WRX STI had this feature and I really liked it. I think it will go well with the door bowl lights.

I have a simple LED light set with its own controller for on/off and color options. What I'm hoping to do is connect this to a wire or wires near the steering column (that ultimately run to the headlights on/off switch) that power the headlights.

Whether the headlight switch is on or in the "Auto" position and the light sensor triggers the headlights I want the footwell lights to be on. I have not had much luck searching for a wiring diagram for the steering column.

Anyone have a wiring diagram or able to direct me on which wire(s) I need to tap into?

Locate the wires coming from the headlight stalk and with a test light back probe the connector to find the trigger or if location isn’t feasible tap off the control side of the headlight relay don’t need a diagram for that it’s labeled.

 

Parking (PANEL or TAIL) fuse inside the cab with an add-a-fuse. Keep the tap "protected" and near the control module.
