It will still work. Just connect our harness first. Their harness shouldn’t be impacted by ours, either, although I won’t guarantee it. The way they designed theirs with the different options — one that kills the cargo light altogether — is… something else.

Sweet. I never messed with the cargo light disable option. It was confusing lol. It’s covered by my camper now so it doesn’t matter.

Thanks for the explanation and all of your effort on this. The rock light harness is from DSIM and doesn't effect the cargo light. I don't use the rock lights while driving, they are more of a courtesy light on lock/unlock, door open situations.

The DSIM Gadget uses the violet wire also...you could piggyback the footwell lights to rock lights wire.

Had a couple of people reach out for pics with the MESO map and dome lights on. For reference I drive an access cab so my cab is smaller but with the same light as a DC — it’s brighter in here due to reflection. You can see that the footwell lights still have their own respective light area.

I am very interested in this solution. I have had VLEDS for the footwell for over a year now. They are extremely bright, and I have been investigating a solution to dim them a bit. I have them wired into the Dome Light circuit using a DSIM DomeRock switch as the power source (https://dsimsolutions.com/products/domerock-v4). I am also interested in having them on while the vehicle is running but at 10% lighting, like some of the higher end vehicles.

This will be the solution for you  It will bypass the DSIM module altogether.

Hey just clarification question, you can have them set to only light up in sync with the dome light and have them be off when the truck runs right?
Sorry the ambient thing was throwing me.

I'd be interested in running them on my door and footwell for at night if I'm on the side of the road.
    Thanks

Yes you can select one mode. The high setting will trigger when the door is open and/or is unlocked remotely.

    An update:
We are consolidating to a single version!

This version will involve no splicing, no relays, fuse taps, or anything like that. It will have a HIGH and a LOW mode. HIGH will fade on and off like your overhead lights in the truck whenever you unlock, open a door, or turn off the truck (your lights turn on for convenience). LOW will be adjustably dimmed and will turn on when your headlights or parking lights come on. HIGH will take priority, such that the lights will get super bright if you open the door while your headlights are on. The system will support up to 4 footwell lights from VLEDS. We are working out how to get the LEDs of your choice (white, blue, or red) included in the packaging when it goes to retailers so you don't have to source them elsewhere, but for you forum-dwellers we will still be using Colton / Hotshot Offroad.

I don't think I can share the specifics of how this all works as we designed this last-minute revision around a product that isn't released. I can tell you that it is compatible with puddle pods; even if you have V1. However, rest assured that this project is moving forward and will be a bit more premium / finished than what we originally thought. I am getting quotes from the factory now, working with the light manufacturer, and gauging retailer interest. Big things will be coming and we hope to get these out before Black Friday. We think they will make a great gift.

Thanks to all that have been continuously blowing up my inbox, phone, and e-mail
