@kmorgan3 quick question: any suggestions for additional adhesive? My driver side one keeps falling off from under the dash. I've used some pretty strong 3M double sided tape.

Granted weather has been up and down in temps, but I guess I'm at a loss

I used a heat gun to warm up the surface and the 3m dbl sided tape prior to install in my frigid garage. Works for me.

Prep the surface (decently warm temps, clean with IPA), get your adhesion to the light good and set, then to the plastic/metal. Use a spring clamp if you need to put consistent pressure on for longer.

I am waiting for someone to ask, "You can really use beer to prep the surface?"

All of those adhesives require temps above 55F or so to be reliable. Heat is good, just not too much. They're usually semi-permanent if you prep well. That being said, it would be cool if someone with a 3D printer would make some type of bracket to go over the LED that allowed us to screw them into the lower dash panels for a very secure fit. Anyone?????

On advice of @kmorgan3 I have used a splitter and the cargo lights now do not pass through the PWM. Works great! Changes noted above in strikethrough and bold italics.

Got my rear set in. I'm not 100% thrilled with my isntall, but given the way my truck is, it's the best option I've got. With the seat covers I have on my rear seats it blocks the "hump" everyone is mounting their lights to. I didn't want to get into drilling / screwing a bracket into the truck, so I used the Velcro option and just fastened them to the carpet under the seats. The only drawback about this option is that you can kinda sorta see the bar if you're looking at just the right angle around the cab, but I've got the PWM way down so it's not as bad. If/when I ditch my seat covers (realistically not until my kids are teens, so a decade from now) then I can move them elsewhere. I'm pleased, though.

I did my fronts in my tundra the other day.

Great with Dual color maps and dome.

only did the front as I’m not sure if I want red also in the rear or run white in the rear.

    A22F2D9D-57D2-4962-8B98-49B8D2F85DCC.jpg

Might just run the reds and rear and see how I like it. If not an easy switch to white

Hey everybody! I hope those that have received their kits are still liking them. For the people that are on backorder, I wanted to give a little update. Initially we ordered a ton of kits to be here by the end of March, but due to some of the zero-tolerance COVID shutdowns overseas, we are having a hell of a time with a variable timeline. Our factories are currently shutdown, but luckily most of the components were complete before the last wave of shutdowns hit. With that said -- assuming it's just 5 more days of isolation -- we are expecting to have the next order of kits rolling out in 2-4 weeks. Thank you all for your patience. I know it's super frustrating (we are frustrated ourselves), but we're doing the best we can to keep you informed. If you have questions just let me know.

How are the vled compared to the diode dynamics ones? They can change colors

Vleds are pnp, diode dynamics is more of universal kit.

Diode Dynamics does not sell a kit specifically for the Tacoma. That means you’ll need to source the harness or use t taps. On top of that, you’ll need to get a PWM to get both modes of lighting which, if you get theirs, will not function the same as the one in this kit because it does not take a ground trigger.

oh ok thank you. I was just browsing on tacomalifestyle and saw these https://www.tacomalifestyle.com/products/diode-dynamics-multicolor-footwell-led-kit

figured there was a reason why people went with the vled since DD makes good products.

Oh wow I've never seen their price. It's more expensive than our kit and they don't give you a PWM for dual modes + they don't give you an OEM-style harness (they use 1 cent fuse taps). Interesting... Must be a large markup. They don't even include the RGBW controller in that price; you gotta buy it separately.

Alright I'm missing something here. Kit installed, works when I open the doors but it goes away like my map lights do after some time. How do I get them to stay on while driving?
